It reminds me of the story of one of the most successful cleaning products of its time...Formula 409. It was chemists four hundred and ninth attempt. This implies that there where 408 attempts that were unsuccessful.
What if their financial backers or BOD had said, "400 attempts should be enough to get it right. That's all you get."
I must say tho, If EM ever announces, "the P408 is not quite right, we just need one more try...." I'm out. :mad: :p

Now, how about something practical. Like some suggestions for the page on my website I'm devoting to being a resource for understanding the autocycle legislation category here in Maine. Better description, resources I should link to, etc, etc?

Norm Larsen, a chemist at the Rocket Chemical Company, unsuccessfully tested thirty-nine compounds that would prevent corrosion and eliminate water from electrical circuitry. He finally got it right in 1953 and labeled the compound Water Displacement Formula 40. The product, now called WD-40, hit store shelves in 1958. Today more than a million cans are sold every week.
