There ya go! A 3D printer/autoclave that lays down carbon nano-tubes with a high-temp resin to hold everything together, then cures it in the same unit. Hmmmm....Sounds possible!
Likely not too surprising to hear that Boeing and F1 teams are already 3D printing using carbon fiber.

Do flat tape laminators count as 3d Printers? (and ribbon lamination?) I was working on those in the 80's for Boeing .Dang! I thought I just came up with a new process [and actually, I like mine better]! Things in that department (3D printing) are on a "need to know" basis, and I don't have the "need to know".....yet! Still working on it.

Oh, yes, think it was filament wound actually. Which can be in the form of a narrow ribbon.To be honest, I've never heard of them (ribbon laminators), but technically, I guess it could be considered the grandfather of today's 3D printers. Moore's Law has exponentionally advanced processor's speeds, and everything they touch.
