I doubt that either Carolina or Atlanta were happy when they saw two games so close together .... the NFL could have done a better job with that bit of the schedule

Yeah, you'd think so. Carolina has the division sewn up. If Atlanta loses the first game in Carolina (likely) but beats them in Atlanta 2 weeks later, the press will probably say "Carolina lost a game that didn't matter to them." or something. It's even possible Carolina could sit starters as soon as they sew up the #1 seed in the NFC. Time will tell (Ego may be involved too... Will they be the first team with a perfect season since '72?

The scheduling (my opinion here) was intentional by the NFL, to try and gain more late season excitement. Many divisional games pushed to the back end of the schedule. Green Bay had 1 div game in the entire first half of the season.

It may work out for them in the NFC North, GB and MN play the season finale, and that game could still decide the division.

The Vikings did a good job mixing up the plays this week. Gave Peterson a bunch of carries, but used play action enough in non-obvious situations to keep the defense off balance. Cardinals offense was inconsistent. One drive, they'd look unstoppable and couldn't get anything going on the next. Turnovers were the difference with one huge play by Freeney to take away an opportunity to send it to OT.

Bengals down by 13 -- Dalton out with a (possibly) broken thumb, Burfict whose agressiveness is only matched by his stupidity is out with a neck injury, other players hurting as well. Not looking good for the Tigers.

Update:
Worse and worse.

Did you see how Dalton broke his thumb? Making a tackle.
