I'll be you $3 in one single bill that we start hearing it again this year! This year's team is without a doubt the best we've had in decades. They WILL make the playoffs, MAY get a round one bye, and COULD go all the way. Of course the saying about Cincinnati is "great city. Great food. great music, and every other year we have a professional sports team." This appears to be a year when we do. No thanks to the Reds.

The Bengals do look strong for sure. Let's look under the win-loss record and see what we see: rankings in the NFL:
  • 3rd in pts scored at 28.6;
  • 7th in pass yds/game at 271;
  • 13th in rush yds/game at 120;
  • 5th in 3rd-downs converted at 45%;
  • tied for 19th in fewest penalties with 57;
  • tied for 6th with a +4 in takeaway/giveaways for turnovers;
  • tied for 4th in sacks with 23;
  • 4th in pts allowed per game at 17.8;
  • 11th in 3rd-downs allowed at 36%;
That's a pretty good looking set of stats there.

Agreed. Yesterday the Bengals had very few penalties, which should help -- given the really stupid ones they racked up earlier (taunting in particular)/

I know a Cleveland lineman got a taunting penalty after standing over the RB he just tackled and looking down at him. Did Cincy get a taunting penalty too at some point?

The problem with those stats is they don't take into account the opponent. Look at Atlanta's stats and you'll see what I mean. I put some easy Falcons stats in parentheses above. The stats just don't tell the whole story unfortunately. If they did, Atlanta would be a powerhouse!

the Packers had their chance but strong pressure on Rodgers didn't allow him to see a wide open receiver in the end zone .... with the loss the Vikings were able to move into a tie with the Packers
