Correct it is technical way of expressing, Turbochargers, best known for making cars go faster, are taking a lead in the race to cut carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. - See more at: http://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/technical/why-turbochargegreen-technology/#sthash.aWCrehpM.dpuf

The formula is simple, really. Use less fuel and your CO2 emissions are lower. After all, the only significant source of carbon in the combustion process is the fuel.

Perfect hydrocarbon combustion yields only carbon dioxide and water.

All you have done is make a bunch of unsubstantiated assumptions and ask us to accept your results on faith.
Show us the underlying assumptions, the science, the math, and the results, then we may not be as skeptical.
Until you can provide substantiated information you should probably calm down.

Mr. William H
I want to see ELIO be successful and sold here in California.

I am sorry I seemed aggressive and confrontational
and yes "Forced air induction" is a techy way of saying "Turbocharging" or "Supercharging" it is well documented that applying either one can reduce the emissions of a engine by 50% .
I did this on my 5.4 liter F150 truck. My emissions reading before installing a supercharger was at the high limit compliance for California legislation (AB42) but after the supercharger install he 5.4L burns cleaner then a Prius and my Highway MPG is up 15% (9 pounds of positive air pressure) but others have noticed the same thing with 6 to 11 pounds of forced air into a engine there is a reduction of emissions and increase in fuel economy.

Here is some MPG data:
The ford fiesta MPG is 40MPG with a weight of 2,537 to 2,720 lbs
http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1098664_2015-ford-focus-1-0l-ecoboost-gas-mileage-review

The 1.0L EcoBoost motor in the 1200 pound ELIO should deliver 80% to 110% better MPG based on power to weight ratio and better aerodynamics (50% less? frontal area) .
Simple physics predicts that fuel economy should increase by about the same percentage that weight decreases, all other things being equal.
http://aceee.org/blog/2016/01/cars-got-quicker-more-powerful-weight

There is a plethora of research all pointing to the same conclusions I present to this ELIO group

This is from the FORD:
The 1.0‑litre EcoBoost was earlier this year voted best in class at the International Engine of the Year Awards for the fifth year in a row. In 2014, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost became the first engine to be named overall International Engine of the Year for a third time in a row, and also was in 2012 named “Best New Engine.”

The compact engine – with a block small enough to fit into an aeroplane’s overhead locker – is available with 100 PS, 125 PS and 140 PS – delivering a greater power-per-litre ratio than a Bugatti Veyron supercar.

The best thing about the ford engine is it passes California Emissions into the the year 2018ish ?.
To send a car to Sacramento to be tested. here is the testing is procedure.

Ford has already done this with the 1.0 liter ecoboost why should ELIO waste money and time.

The increase in combustion pressure from a Supercharger or Turbocharger yeilds more complete burn (95 to 100%).

" Paul Elio: Well, when we started out, I don't think we had the cachet to get somebody to sell us the kind of volume of engines that we needed. Actually, I'm certain of it. Only the big guys make engines in meaningful numbers. So I'd have to get Ford, GM, Toyota, Chrysler, or somebody to get interested enough to sell me that many motors. That opportunity just wasn't available then – it is now, but it wasn't then. "

Simply put, why should Ford be reasonable about selling an engine to a competitor? It's quite possible that the amount that Ford would ask per unit would price the final auto SIGNIFICANTLY higher than $8,000. Perhaps as much as $10,000 per car, since Elio would be buying only a small fraction of Ford's total engine output. Since a Fiesta, which carries twice as many people and actually has a trunk, has a price beginning at $13,660, by careful pricing Ford could minimize if not eliminate Elio as a competitor, especially if they get the idea to build their own 3-wheeled vehicle.

this is posed as a question : from its early days of EM has made a point that they are going to produce an Autocycle, not an automobile .... as such we were told that, by law, it has to pass the qualifications for motorcycles, not the qualifications for automobiles .... EM has stated that as one of their plans/goals is to voluntarily submit their cycle for crash and pollution testing .... has anyone seen any release from EM stating that has changed ....

The Elio motor came out in 2015. I did a quick search, and found IAV filed 2 engine patents in 2015. Coincidence?

http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnfull/20150114/169246

MY Biggest fear and the sadist thing about ELIO is it is all starting to feels like greedy investors jumped into the ELIO corporation and are more interested in protecting their cut of the profits than actually producing a usable car.
In the end it looks like all their push to protect their part of the investments into IAV is to make sure IAV gets the green light. and we get stuck with a more expensive inferior design engine compared to what is available and that will directly affect the sales.
It may not be appropriate to think people need more then 50 hp (That is their only argument) but we the people want to see 80-100 MPG and Zero or near Zero Emissions and we do like Horsepower.
Horsepower sells cars.
There is not one piece of engineering paper that will explain to you that 50HP will push 1200 pounds around and get 84 MPG as the ELIO website claims.
It is a false claim impossible to do and document.
Now the same engine size in the 140 Horsepower range such as the 1.0L Ecoboost on paper can do the 80-100 MPG.
The Formula ford FF200 can get from zero to 60 mph in less then four seconds and can achieve 118 miles per gallon... at 35 mph.

Mmeyer: I don't know if you are correct or not. The problem, as I see it , is you are preaching to the wrong people. We (members of this forum), can't do a thing about it. If EM decides to use a Briggs and Stratton, there is not a thing we can do about it.
Now, if you develop a business plan for EM to use the Ford engine, take your ideas to the board members of Ford and EM. They are the only ones who can make that happen. I could say what I think their answer will be, but I won't. That would be just my opinion.

that is very true except the world like diversity, If ford was to let ELIO use the ECOboost 1.0L engine can be a good marketing spin for them to get the public acceptence here in America land of the v-8 to go for the little engine that could.

Thank you I am on the market for a new job. and yes the board of directors is the place to preach. just dont have a voice their and the time to invest.
