I asked Aprilia the same question about is envious low number but he never responded. He does come across with the appearance of having experience and a level reasonable view point. I don't think he is trying to influence this forum to his advantage, to what end? We all have opinions and nobody knows what will happen.. Time will tell on all things Elio.

Thanks for the kind comments!

Actually...I'm not sure what influencing a forum even means...and to what advantage...and to who's advantage...etc...

Other than my $1,000 reservation...I'm not a Elio investor...and currently have no intention of owning Elio stock...it's way to speculative for my tastes...

At the end of the day...none of us can truly predict the final outcome of the Elio saga...

But in 6 months or less...I'll know if my early reservation was a good commitment to make...

And with regards to my reservation number...I'll have to look it up...but if I post it what does that really prove...

Bottom line...everyone that reads this forum certainly has the right to disagree with my opinions...they're just that...my own opinions!

Howdy Ares brother! I'm 3/24 as well!

I'm not holding my breath on "production", but some test vehicles actually being tested would be nice.
I hope people realize I was thinking 2017. 2016 I'd be happy with a completed CAD drawing of the E series to begin nuts and bolts fabrication.

ps Do they need operable vehicles for the crash tests or just the bodies?

The CAD drawings are almost certainly completed for the final design and are now being used to create the frame jigs and other tooling. Nice thing about CAD models is the can be tweaked to make things work with the click of a mouse button. As for the units used for crash testing, I read somewhere that they would be complete units less the engine. They'll just use weights to represent the engine.

I'm hoping mine will be sitting under the Christmas tree. :D

I was on here a year ago in the extreme minority of people who were realistic to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Elio was not going to be manufactured last year and I was promptly called a troll by the strangely sensitive populace here. Funny how another year later we're in the same boat and people seem just as naïve and delusional.

I just can't fathom how anybody truly believes there are going to be Elios rolling off the production line by the end of this year. There are no final-production-clad prototypes tested (are any even built? aren't the 25 still going to be hand-built basically?), no Elio-specific tooling built and definitely not in place at the manufacturing facility, no manufacturing force hired (let alone trained). It just boggles my mind that anybody believes this will be the year. It's already March!

I would be shocked if Elios are rolling off the production line even in 2017. I think 2018 is more realistic.
It takes about an week to train a "manufacturing force".... "When the car gets in front of you, put this part here and screw it in." I can't fathom how anyone truly believes it would be smart to hire 1,500 people to sit on their assets for an entire year. The 25 will be hand built (just like all cars are but without a moving assembly line. This is where they get the process of assembly down and also where they will most likely do some time studies.

The hold up wasn't manufacturing or personnel. It has been getting the money to do those things. Almost ALL the parts will be manufactured elsewhere and just assembled in Shreveport. It isn't like they are starting from scratch.

Delusional and optimistic are two different things. A parent doesn't go the a Middle School orchestra concert thinking their kid will be the next big thing. They go there hoping all the kid's practice and hard work will culminate in a great performance. That is the difference between being optimistic and delusional. Could the manufacturing start be delayed again? Could the Falcons win the next Super Bowl? Sure. I'll watch football and hope my team makes a great showing. That doesn't make me delusional.

Just for entertainment purposes, and in the interest of "can't we all get along", humor and fun, and maybe a bit of enlightenment...

How did you get Aprilia to 'like' this post? Just teasing...

How did the Kansas City Royals make it to the World Series in 2014 and 2015, winning the 2nd one? How could anyone fathom that?

How does anyone have faith in something? Haven't you had confidence or trust in something? Faith makes a person an easy target for others to say that the person seems to be naïve and delusional, doesn't it? And if you defended your faith, you might be called what... sensitive? One could say that you had faith a year ago, that the Elio would not be manufactured last year. You didn't know for sure, but you had confidence and trust that it would not happen.

There's very little, VERY little, that any of us know about the future of the Elio, that is beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Delusional = having false or unrealistic opinions or beliefs. Who gets to decide if a person's opinion is unrealistic? Most of the time, it's those that don't have faith.

So here we are: you were called a troll for your faith, and others on this forum are called naïve and delusional for their faith.
