Heck, I don't know. I just stole the pic from Interloper07's post for a starting point. Closest I've come to driving a Mercedes was driving a Freightliner with their MBE4000 motor. Gimme a Detroit or Cummins any day.

we are really fond of the MB900 in ours ..:)

Here's the same display (blown up 2x for my caveman editing technique) crudely turned into an Elgin style display. So, are we just infatuated with the 99% of the dial we're not using? Food for thought.

To be fair to the Elgin, on a traditional needle style cluster, you're not "using" most of that space anyway. Instead, most of the numbers along the tach and speedo are sitting there doing nothing. Though yes, the angle of the needle can be used to estimate your speed in a traditional cluster, while the Elgin obviously doesn't benefit from that.
