Is there a way to mark an alert so I know I have read it? I had 15 alerts this morning and had a hard time keep track because some of them were to the same post or were more than one alert from one person. Does that make sense? Also is there a place on the site where I can find out how to get/create/change the avatar? Hopefully it will be simple enough that I can do it myself. Well, I can hope can't I? LOL Thanks Z

Avatar is easy, just click your name in the top right corner of the screen, then in the menu it opens click avatar, then pick the file you want to use for your avatar.

For alerts, I do not currently know of any way to mark them as read. An easier way to go about it may be to click "Watched Threads" at the top and it will bring up any topic that you have participated in that has new posts.

Here's an idea - how about a database or listing of people's reservation numbers (voluntary, of course)? You could just have the numbers all listed and let us self populate with our numbers. There'd be a lot of blank ones as not everyone with an Elio reserved is on the site. It would be interesting to see the numbers of those who are $1,000 all in. I'm not yet as my wife thinks it's still too risky... I'm working on her though. I'd like to make sure I get one of the first few thousand but have no idea how high the $1,000 all-in crowd is now.

This is a good idea. I think I may just work on this

I like the idea and I think it is around 3,000 now if I remember correctly.

First. The messageboard here is better than any I have ever posted on. both in layout and speed, and gizmos.
And there is little you can do to facilitate the communication between all of us, but what I real would like to have access to is what is the REAL ELIO. make a locked-down thread stickied to the top of what ever part of the board it would best fit, or just have it avaialble from the home screen.
Just an example...the 70 hp engine? really I still see posts where people state the Elio is going to have a 70hp engine.
Couldn't someone that is up-to-date maintain a "Fact" page...and when a "fact" is updated the page could be accessed by the Moderator that is maintaining it and edit the page to the latest rumor...FACT, I really meant to type FACT.
One thing that could be posted on the "FACT SHEET Page could be a link to a thread discussing the "fact". so when a "fact" changes we can all go chew the fat on that thread instead of having a whole buncha meandering threads.
So say they do come out with news that the 0-60 time has been lowered to just under 3 seconds. The Moderator could post the new "fact", and then post the link to the old 0-60 thread. there we could bitch and moan about how if it isn't 2.8 seconds then we can't really understand why they haven't put a turbo on it.
I've read a whole bunch on here the last three days, and I gotta tell ya it is hard to keep all the "facts" straight when so many of em are now wrong, and some never were right.
Sure the "facts" will change with time, and that is the exact reason a "fact" page is needed.
please.

The "facts" could even be archived... so when the hp is said to have changed to 60hp in the standard model the mod could just put the new "fact" at the top of the "HP status" and the date the info was made available and leave the old "55" Hp info on there as "history."

I will try and put this diplomatically...and then ruin it by saying how terrible the eliomotors.com site is for getting any real information because it is a sales pitch ad nauseum...oh hell nevermind about being diplomatic. that site has alot of warm fuzzy print and pretty pics. What it doesn't have is a concise page where they list exactly what the elio is at this stage.
And now you have done it and several before you so i am going to publically state it here so maybe the error will be reduced by other members that reference that site. Sending anyone to the homepage over there is like sending them to Chase after Alice Through the Looking Glass but giving her a ten minute head start. it is one of the least navigable sites I have ever visited... the verbiage is designed to sell(read that as mislead if you are not in sales or advertising). Rarely does it take you directly to anywhere. it wants you to consistently reread the warm fuzzy sales pitch over and over.
Someone here has a more critical mind they that site is willing to represent, and that someone also keeps abreast of all the latest "press Releases" and "Public statements" being made about the development of the Elio.
If this Forum would just allow him to keep us updated by having a page or thread stickied to the top of one of the forums then we could have a clear, concise reference as to what the Elio actually is NOW, instead of ping-ponging through threads that go off on tangents about personal issues that have NOTING to do with the Elio. (Please note I add to the drivel so i am not denying anyone the right to drivel.)
