I believe they get some kind of testing, because when I bought my first scooter, it had an MPG rating. After some digging, I found that the MPG ratings for all two-wheeled motor vehicles require using a 150 lb. driver. On a Honda or a Harley, 150 lbs might not make a significant difference; but on a scooter that explained why my MPG was so much lower than the rated MPG.

(Still, I was getting 3 times the MPG what my car was getting, and it only cost me about 0.8 gallons of gasoline every other week. I would love to have that scooter back.)

No inside information. I am betting they will be there because Detroit is Elio's Birthplace. It is where all the elios been made and so far being made. Most of the suppliers are there. Last year elio had a suppliers summit right before the cruise and a big gathering of the inter crowd. (They just had one last week, they need to follow-up with another) Elio was a great success at the Woodward Dream Cruise for the past two years. Most of the tour team call Detroit home and have family & friends there. It a great big party, miles & miles of big party. Great food, Great people and OH miles and miles of Beautiful Shinning Cars.

FWIW - The factory has been labeled on Google maps as being "Elio Motors" for quite some time. At least a year.

However, Google has not managed to rename General Motors Blvd to Antoine Blvd yet.

Good catch. Every time I drive by there, it seems odd... Here, you can see the Antoine Blvd sign and Google's "General Motors Blvd" text on the road.

Has Tesla locked down a price? $40,000 + to me means the price has not been locked down either.
Sounds like Tesla gets to charge something greater than $40,000 perhaps $46,800 or greater .
