The long wheel bee will help the ride ... but I don't know how well sprung / shocked that third wheel is going to be. Have to hope the engineering team has come up with the right answers. The ride in the movies tends to look a little choppy -- but some of that may be interference from the chase car bouncing a bit itself.

Hoping for the best, that's me. I want my Elio!

Commuting to my home brewing shop five days a week, and maybe occasional playtime in the North Georgia and North Carolina mountains.
Now who could possibly suspect a luggage rack constructed of 16 inch diameter schedule 40 PVC pipe on top of an Elio would actually contain 100 grain hooch. The Name "Beer Brewer" is a great cover name to throw the Revenuers off too. LOL

As my wife demanded we get a vans after are 2nd child this will be "my" primary vehicle. Work commute + any time I need to do anything that dose not require the van...
Such a great deal for you Nitro, you get the Elio! Enjoy and look over the accessory/options sheet which may be posted September (some time). Check off on the accessory sheet what extras if any) you want on your Elio.

I'm just curious. Since the Elio is primarily made for commuting to work or running errands what is the primary use for you getting this vehicle? I'm retired so my primary usage will be for play. Something to tinker with and cruise around visiting family members without using a lot of gas. Maybe even a budget tent camper for long trips.
I've been putting off visiting friends and family because I don't have an efficient vehicle (unless you consider an 06 Tacoma efficient). I hope to leave the plantation and take a big road trip.

William, it seems the Elio will be your key to mobility again, at 84 mpg highway you'll be able to go where you want again.
Enjoy that relief with your Elio! You can visit friends and family again.
Terrence :)

You might aught to talk to Snick. At Hwy speeds He's got the idea that a rudder and stabilizer might just as on an airplane fly the back wheel off the pavement neutralizing the need for the trailing wheel shocks and suspension and a plus a gas mileage bonus too. Perhaps as speed over 50 or so. However I rather think this will mitigate the 5 star safety rating somewhat. LOL

I love riding motorcycles, but there are two problems associated with riding them...they can't be ridden in inclement weather, and my wife won't ride with me because she's afraid of them. I'd like an Elio as an addition to my motorcycle, which could be used for commuting, or just joy riding, and I'd probably be able to get my wife to go with me too!

It will be interesting to see what the back seat is like. I'm not sure that my wife will like joy-rides from the back seat. Seams like visibility and communications will be a problem. My intended use of the back seat at this point is to pick my son up from school every day and for short drives. I don't envision road trips with someone in the back.

I hope I'm wrong.
