I believe the glass roof option EM has discussed will end up being very popular for helping with any back seat claustrophobia issues.
Another idea I have thought of is a forward facing camera which can be wired into a display mounted to the back of the driver seat. This would give the passenger a nice view of what is going on in front of the vehicle however may also bring to life the 'back seat driver'.

Also if attached to a brief recording system, useful for combating insurance scams.

As a motorcycle person I can say what attracts me to the Elio is still having the fun factor of a motorcycle, while not having to wonder what the weather will be doing...too cold to ride motorcycles? Raining? Snowing? No problem, just take the Elio....

Interesting contrast...........I'm not a motorcycle person........and Elio allows me to have the fun factor of a motorcycle.

I'm really getting into some after market ideas. Here a low tech low budget solution to two passenger communication. You should note that the driver wears his reversed but the rear passenger is front oriented.

Primary use will be just to drive it/ride it. Should my Elio ever show up here it will be parked in the Garage for anyone around here to drive.
It won't fit in the door to the motorcycle room.

I sure do It took me years to get it My bikes live in the house and they have it good.. If the ELIO shows up I make a place for it.

Be careful what you wish for, about that front view camera displayed in the back seat!

I think the glass roof might reduce claustrophobia, but don't forget the rear side windows will help. To my mind the glass roof is a strain on the A/C, heavy, with a reduction in mpg, and expensive! Other than that, it's a nifty idea for those who want one.
