I would like to do that, however my company is picking up the expense of my "maintenance trip" for equipment I installed at Wheeler AAB. So the wife can go if I pay only her ticket and food. I takes real creative genius to stretch three days of maintenance into ten days of stay. I know I am going to loose any argument about going by myself. I hope to do some fishing and island hopping.

I was in the middle of a few things and never checked into it. I was wondering of Elio was starting production soon because I have seen the car in person last year and really liked it. My guess would be that those hires are for the Hyundai DYMOS, the seat maker for the Elio....just a guess

That's good. With Hyundai ramping up seat production, that means Elio will be way ahead of them. I deal in automotive suppliers and the manufacturer is at least 3-4 months ahead of the suppliers for items like seats. It just comes down to that seats are pretty much the same and production can be done in 3 months.

It's not the "Elio Plant" that's hiring. It doesn't have anything at all to do with Elio Motors or seats.

Workers at the state-of-the-art vehicle logistics and processing center will do quality inspections and outfit imported vehicles with equipment and exterior upgrades for 75,000 Kia vehicles annually as requested by local dealers, officials said.

The facility also will serve as Kia’s distribution hub for the central and western United States.

Officials said Shreveport's ability to ship the cars out drew GLOVIS in.

Transportation infrastructure in place with the rail, being able to transport the vehicles from Mexico as well as from international ports," said Martinez."

I haven't been in this site for a long time (mainly because there's never anything new to talk about), so what's the latest push-back date? I'm assuming they've pushed back the date again because they've done it so many times already....

Just read online, production pushed back from end of 2017 to 2018. The Caddo Parish is upset because Elio Motors was originally promising jobs for the unemployed GM workers back in 2015. The building administrator RACER is possibly going after Elio Motors for renigging on the deal and selling off unneeded equipment left by GM.
