I am also seriously considering ordering a Chang Li. No sense in waiting any longer. If other parties were also interested, perhaps a group order could be placed that would benefit all on both price and shipping. Something to think about.

For around 3k, you already have a complete car (or at least a resemblance) not a kit. A more powerful motor and L ion batteries (it comes with lead acid batteries) should up it's lame performance.I am also seriously considering ordering a Chang Li. No sense in waiting any longer. Your warranty should start when it's completely repaired.Probably nothing exciting; just routine, short trips to stores for a few items. But I make sure I get the 6,000 miles in by the 2 year mark to get the bugs out.

You can also look at the Minghong sv2. It could be more expensive but has more features.Wow, that's proof right there that you can get a Chinese car in the country for cheap! And it makes for a good project. A decent electrician can simply replace it's motor with a readily available golf cart gas motor rated at 10-12hp or 3-5hp electric and now you have a fully enclosed car complete with back up camera good for short runs to your nearby grocery store or to impress your buddies at the golf course! Seriously considering getting one.
I like the electric motorcycles too!You can also look at the Minghong sv2. It could be more expensive but has more features.

Dealers don't want to DEAL with warranty repairs because they don't make real money specially EVs- there's hardly any maintenance to it- and in your case, they just wanna fix it once and for all and be done with it if issues after issues keep popping up on the same car because it makes them look bad to customers. So bright side is you're lucky the problems presented itself while under warranty.Probably nothing exciting; just routine, short trips to stores for a few items. You can also get a Chiang Li for about $995.00. But with shipping and misc. expenditures it would be around $3000.00.

Yes, that's the model I'm looking at on Alibaba. Later ones claim to have "disc brakes, lithium ion batteries, even AC". And unlike the never to be produced elio, the Chang Li is available today. Still it is only a low speed "neighborhood vehicle. You can also look at the Minghong sv2. It could be more expensive but has more features.
