Elio Addict
You may be right and if it is that price range than I don't see folks paying that much to add a turbo. Instead, if Elio came out with a factory installed turbo model, than that would be the way to go, with a warranty.
If my goal is to use the Elio as a commuter, then I want reliability. I know that I can add a turbo, but anything I do in my garage will have downtime. With the factory turbo I get to keep my warranty and have someone else with more engineering prowess do the development and installation.
If my goal is to use the Elio as a toy, then I would not mind going turbo in my garage. That is the plan for my Miata at the moment, once the Elio is my commuter the Miata becomes the fire breathing weekend/track car
