You may be right and if it is that price range than I don't see folks paying that much to add a turbo. Instead, if Elio came out with a factory installed turbo model, than that would be the way to go, with a warranty.

If my goal is to use the Elio as a commuter, then I want reliability. I know that I can add a turbo, but anything I do in my garage will have downtime. With the factory turbo I get to keep my warranty and have someone else with more engineering prowess do the development and installation.

If my goal is to use the Elio as a toy, then I would not mind going turbo in my garage. That is the plan for my Miata at the moment, once the Elio is my commuter the Miata becomes the fire breathing weekend/track car :)

That will be most likely the general norm. I think after-market will be more geared for the owner that isn't buying this out of necessity and would like to be different and have more power.

The "price" is what will keep a lot of people away.
I do my own mods.

Smaller engines in transportation are the thing of the future. Not a very big market at the moment for "speed" stuff.
Except for "off road".

The Elio motor is 12:1 compression that will run on Regular unleaded, it also has a variable cam.
How much boost would you expect to get into it without doing a major internal change.

Also, would you like to provide a link to your company.

How many of the 4th wheel kits has the shop done, and is it always done with the motor change?

Hard to say without testing it on the dyno and seeing how string the internal parts are first. If I had to guess I would say 4-5 psi maybe more with head studs. I'll post up a link when its relevant and I get on board as a vendor. We have done a few of the kits, not all of them have a V8 conversion.

Vendor or not, Elio Owners is not affiliated with Elio Motors in any way.
We do not care if your a vendor, we already have other vendors that are members (Like SDK, and Solo and Arcimoto).
Since we do not have a Buy, Sell and Swap section, we do not promote sales.
So a link to your business makes no difference to us; but it will give that folks here that have Slingshots a chance to take a look at your product.

And you must be the first company owner that didn't provide a link to their business; most always want to promote a good relationship with a good community of folks.

In a way, it is.
TurboE started with sayin that they'll have a turbo for the Elio, price around $3K to $3,500
But this was without knowing anything about the Elio motor or design.
So we're just seeing if it was going to be a realistic option.
With only 4 - 5psi max, that price doesn't really make it a viable option since that would be 1/2 the price of the whole vehicle.
If I recall, Paul has said that the Turbo would be in the $1,200 range when the Gen II Elio are coming together, and the turbo for those could be retrofit in the Gen I cars. In a way, I have to go with what Paul has talked about since he was in on the design of the motor, and knows better than anyone.
