I was just trying to find this pic!

My question is.... Is this actually a picture of the P5, or is this a re-colored picture of the P4? Does anybody know? Also note that the round Elio logo appears to be colorless now, instead of green.

Looks like actual P5. Note the distance from the grill opening to where it starts to roll back toward the hood.

Man!, I can't wait for some test drive-videos! It will be the first time run for a properly designed drive train to fit this specific application.

The car itself is one of the very few to hit what I consider the primary list of required attributes. i.e. Ready for US Freeways, crash safety, all weather operation, tandem seating, Fwd-2F1R, aerodynamic body, viable entry and exit, low weight/high mileage.

I would have liked to see aerodynamic efficiency closer to the Atlantric, and weight lower by 200lbs. But, hey, currently I consider that my job!

At some point I want a good measurement of the engine/drive, to see if it will fit inside the Atlantric body form. So that will have to wait until it's on show in Arizona. Hopefully, this time, I won't be sick or in recovery on those days!

Have you considered using the 1 liter G1 Insight engine/trans? 60+ hp without IMA and can be driven/run that way. Very light, compact, unit.

Back on topic, you know,, the real P5
Ah, but we are definitely still on topic! Language DEFINES reality. One of the plot lines of the novel "1984" was the attempt by Big Brother to change the language to make thoughtcrime impossible. The results, shall we say, were double ungood.

No, I haven't, but there are some inline 4's I have allowed room for if the engine is tilted a bit. I'll look into it, thanks!
There are a number of things will fit however, like a VW bug or a Subaru opposed 4, any number of MC engines with the right differential and shift-reversing block. Some versions of Formula Ford 1600 to 2200cc with the right manifolds and custom headers.
So the G1 could probably be adapted to the VW tranny, tilted a bit if needed(add a dry oil sump), maybe a custom manifold and headers, and that would be a cherry set-up, I'd wager.
But the best would be if the Insight full hybrid drive and tranny would fit.
I was going to research my PriusC drive for that, I can add in the G1 to my investigations. But the point is moot if I never get back to working on the body.

Is cost a consideration? I know there are small turbine engines that would easily fit (and produce 100-200+HP) that would be perfect for a high performance serial hybrid drivetrain.
