Like saying that a 231 V6 is a 305V8 with 2 less cylinders. In principal yes, but very few components interchange.

Um, cause it ain't. You may be thinking of the 4.3/262 truck motor which is more or less 3/4 of a 350, mostly.

231/3.8 is a whole different kettle of fish than the Chev small blocks.

When I started this topic I was hoping for discussion about manual transmissions since there was already one going on about the automatic. I felt it was great news that the clutch would be full manual on the standard transmission. Lets get back to the topic.

My guess is hydraulic. It's an industry standard and easier to control through restrictions and manifolds.
Don't get me wrong, I have a great fondness for cable clutches.

Since they would like to keep costs down I would think it would be cable. Especially since it's such a short distance.
