What are your thoughts on DEF?
That, Vs the 'Soot Cooker'?
DEF is easy enough to use. It gets me every time I have to put some in though... Here's another expense of diesel engines... Plus, the way that Ford trucks are set up, the DEF usage is basically a guess by the truck. The ONLY way to reset the level that is reported is to completely fill the DEF tank. If you let it get too close to empty, the truck will go into a low power mode. I never let mine get that low and fill it when I can. I know there are a lot of people who say "I'll delete all that emissions crap". I'm not one of them. Those people are intentionally polluting MY air. Anyway, DEF is painless enough and if that's what it takes to make diesels better for the environment, it's a small price to pay.

The BEST thing that's happened to diesels, in my opinion, is the elimination of sulfur... I know it added a cost per gallon that I pay but I'm just glad I don't have to smell that horrible rotten egg smell any more!

and somehow they've managed to dampen the great sound of a diesel idling .- had a 300td loved the sound!, Taught my kid to drive in a diesel Rabbit, was great 'cause it was almost impossible to stall, as she learned clutch shifting-(she still thanks me and only drives stick)

True... But, I must admit, it is nice in my truck that I can hold a whispered conversation at 70MPH!

AMEN .... there's nothing like the sound of an old Cummins diesel .... I'm certainly glad that new generation diesels sound nothing like them ... ;)
Gimme that Detroit 2 stroke sound any day. Just not as much of it as I've listened to in the past. Please speak loudly, and directly at me! I'd put a smiley here, but it ain't really funny.

You are correct that I 'distrust' Elio Motors. I supported them for 4 1/2 years, since 2009, paid my $1,000 #925, but when I ask them a simple question about their 'Elio Engine Facility' and their 'Regional Marshaling Centers'....... instead of saying; "We can't release that information yet" or their standard, "closer to production"....... they [Delete] the post and BLOCK me from the Elio Motors FaceBook page. You are correct, I do not 'trust' them any longer. After they get your 'money'..... customer service goes out the window!
You say they deleted your post and blocked you from the Elio Motors Facebook page. Judging from you "attitude" here, if you were as much of a pest then as you are now, I don't blame them.
