The Elio Automatic Transmission

I thought so to though I didn't fact check it. I just intended to find the mandate for Ethanol. It's been posited that it actually takes more diesel fuel in growing, harvesting, and shipping Ethanol than it actually saves. I don't know about that either but I DO know that Ethanol likes water and it can wreak all kinds of havoc in gas tanks and engines when left unattended for too long.

It depends a lot on the technology used to create the ethanol... some are energy positive, others are energy negative.

Technically speaking, it is energy negative to use gasoline and diesel fuel because we don't count the energy it would take to replace the fossil fuels. There is a finite amount of crude price up out there. We can argue about how much there is, or how hard it will be to get it out of the ground... but with ethanol and other bio fuels, we are actually creating a renewable fuel that is not finite.

Argue amongst yourselves.

Having a monoposto vehicle is what drives my train. Having an automatic of any type would make it spouse friendly. MA requires a motorcycle endorsement right now making that point moot. I want to drive mine before I die. Build something already...

The key to Ethanol is the subsidy to the farmers of a critical early caucus state. Fuel efficiency and green fuel are irrelevant. It's sort of like resistance to pipelines. Greater good is irrelevant when discussing a CAUSE.

I was just about to ask the same question; so scooch over a little and let an old man sit here waiting for the answer to "a Monoposto is a what?"

I looked up Monoposto, and this is what Wikipedia said it was. Sounds like fun, and the Elio might be a candidate.

The Monoposto Racing Club is a single seater, open-wheeled motor racing club in the United Kingdom. Its members race a variety of single seater race cars ranging from 600cc Jedi's to 2000cc Formula Threeand Formula Renault cars. Monoposto is Italian for 'Single Seater'. As of 2010, it is the largest single seater championship in the UK, with over 60 regular race entrants.

What the term means to me is a single seater (wide) such as a formula Ford for the road. A weather resistant bike that won't fall over, Sold to the man in the tin foil derby.

Since this is supposed to be a discussion about the automatic transmission, in the photos I've seen, why is the shifter a PRND without at least 1 low gear option? Whether it's a 5 or 6 speed, a 1 or 2 gear choice is helpful when you're stuck in the snow.

The picture in the configurator is just a stand-in right now, so we don't know what the actual automatic transmission gear selection options will be yet :)
