"Wait...the story I heard is that he was actually flying this Elio that got shot down."

Paul has BW beat. he said production to start 4 times.
Maybe that's why production hasn't started, BW keeps getting those Elio's shot down.

Hang in there BW, you take some of the pressure off Paul.

Once Paul reluctantly left a news reporter and his female partner take off in a prototype and he drove into an unfinished road and cost the company quite a bit of money. I remember seeing the TV report and later learning what the guy did off camera.

I also have no problem without driving one until after its mine. :)

My guess is when mine is ready I'll take my truck with a 16' trailer over to Shreveport, drive it a little bit there and then bring it home. If someone else in the area is getting one, maybe use a larger trailer and do two for one.

I heard Brian Williams said that he once drove an Elio as an emergency escape vehicle. When the helicopter he was riding in got hit with an RPG in that famous war zone, they jumped out and got into their Elios to get away, but these were not the typical Elios that you and I have seen. These are super high performance versions, with a 475 HP engine, that puts out 580 ft lbs of torque, utilizing twin supercharged engines that were balanced and blueprinted, and also featured nitrous oxide boost as well. They also had bulletproof tires, along with bulletproof glass, bomb proof bodies, and a much better suspension that can go off road. They also featured a 50 BMG rifle that is visually controlled by simply looking at the target, and firing with a voice command. These super Elios were rated at 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, and did the quarter mile in 7.9 seconds at 153 mph. :)
Right church, wrong pew- it was Bill OReilly

Has any one (customer) actually drove a Elio?
Hi Nancy,
and welcome from THE Sunshine State. One response you got here I think was mistaken when he alluded to the fact there was no power steering in the P4, the truth be told, there will be no Power steering, whatever the final configuration in the production E

I will buy the Elio if available, but if it's an uncomfortable fit for this old geezer or is disappointing in the handling and or fun department it will be Elio up for sale in a heartbeat. If EM ever gets to the point of building prototypes for the anticipated ride and drive event, and my expectations of that happening are at an all time low, I will know if it's a keeper or a quick resale opportunity.

we've talked about doing the same thing ..... what we'd like to do is fly down and drive the Elio back home but the last time I looked at the cost of doing so, I thought I was going to need someone to dial 911 .... we've also talked about going down by bus or train but haven't checked into the rates

I spoke to Jerome about this,(Jan 2015), and they were trying to work out an arrangement for folks who fly in, to be transported to one of the Casinos, Comped in the hope you'll gamble (easy guess w/ this group) and drink- transport to factory 2-3 days package., and drive home. Keep tuned.

I've read of such a possibility .... depending one the final numbers, a reduction in motel/food cost could help with the plane ticket
