Gas will never be free! With the price of a barrel of oil at $74-$75 gas should be under $2 a gallon but it's not! I have always had at least one fuel efficient vehicle in my driveway since the late 70's and in a year or two I'll have two. It's about saving money, at the pump and point of purchase.
As far as investors go, I believe it was mentioned during the interview at the plant about not seeking outside investment money or maybe one of the positive articles written about the Elio. Elio Motors does not have to explain to me, what is going on behind the scene, I'm not an investor! I have given my money ( freely ) to Paul Elios dream in hopes of making it a reality. I have no doubts Elio Motors will go into production in the next year or so,. I am not a patient person, I want and need this vehicle now but I'm willing to wait for Paul and Elio Motors to get it right!

Since you only get about 20 gallons of gasoline from a barrel of crude, the income from the $2 gasoline is about 20 x $1.50 or $30 (assuming taxes of 50¢.) The gasoline is the most profitable "half" of the barrel, so if you double the $30 to $60, you are still short. Shippers have to make a profit, refiners have to make a profit, the retailers have to make a profit, so $2.00 gasoline at $75/barrel is not possible.

Of course taxes do make a difference. Some states have very low taxes. Combine that with $50-60 crude and it gets close.

If you've not seen the Show "Shark Tank" well If you catch the show on TV you'll know how that we are all little sharks and we are buying into Paul's presentation. I'm buying what I perceive as Paul's dream and talent. Good on you all.

But if you have the discipline to put the money aside you get that 12 percent plus Elio bonus. You stand in violation of the rule that says never pay someone else to manage your money for you. True discipline is a gift from God for getting your priorities straight.

PS never worry how many atheist put you on their ignore lists. That puts you in pretty good company the way I see it. LOL

For me it wasn't a gift, but rather a wise Uncle who taught me how to save and pay no interest. He also said you get what you pay for.........referencing quality.

should have been ELECTRIC ?? could have been promoted as the solution to get us off from FRACKING (destroying our precious drinking water) before it is too late !!

I have no clue what fracking has to do with the production of an Elio .... but to address your point, fracking has been shown to not destroy our precious drinking water ===> http://www.newsobserver.com/2014/09/15/4153640/duke-scientists-fracking-didnt.html .... earlier studies that made that contention have been proven to be faulty but they are still being quoted by folks who want to argue emotion and not discuss facts .... when NC was studying fracking the governor was a Democrat and even the research she commissioned, found no medical issues

I received a couple of emails over the holiday weekend saying I could upgrade my reservation and get the old 50% bonus. Since I am already $1k All In I wasn't eligible to upgrade.
Then I received one yesterday saying that I had been automatically given the 50%.
Anyone else getting these?
