MY dad's 66 p/u also had no carpet. Nor his 71. My 72 Nova also had no carpet. Agreed, as a young lad, it made it VERY easy to clean up from, uh, over indulging and not making the door open in time...
EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Not something I had to picture; that's just gross.....................

Getting back to an "options" thing that came up a couple of months ago (don't even know if it was on this thread) BUT... has anyone who's gone to see the Elio in person ever talked to one of the presenters about what options might be available for some kind of cold weather block heater? Dipstick heater, head bolt heater, small oil pan under the engine that you light on cold nights, anything? My understanding is that most options require something fitted specific to the engine (i.e., it has to be a certain size; it might be available for some brands and models, but you'd need to use a different one for other brands and models, etc.) About the only option I know about that doesn't have to be fitted to the engine is using one of those hanging incandescent work lights, stuffed in the belly of the beast and plugged in when you want to warm up the engine -- not very efficient.

The only time my wife questions my word is when Math is involved, and that's because she doesn't trust Math. Once you get in the habit of it, telling the truth becomes almost addicting. I am not burdened by the weight of my own words, and my best friend trusts me implicitly. It's hard to beat that.
Has math ever lied to her?

I've used a little heat pad that simply taped itself to the oil pan. Worked fine on my wife's Hyundai Santa Fe (since sold) that she had in Minot, North Dakota. It would go on almost any vehicle produced and did it's job.

They're probably just expecting someone to be kinder.

If someone is obviously not going to let me change lanes just because they have butt hurt, it makes me REALLY want to piss them off. And I do. Sometimes I love being me.
And sometimes, people who antagonize people on purpose get shot. In a recent instance near my house in Albuquerque, the pissed off guy fired a couple of rounds into the truck which resulted in a four year old girl being killed. Wanna "get someone"? Don't do it on the road we all share. Be an ass somewhere else.

Take the high road.

Did you need to tape some plastic or other waterproofing material over the heat pad to keep it from getting soaked by the slush and snow from the road?

No. It was made to be on the oil pan. It wasn't a home-use heat pad for sore shoulders or anything. I pressed it to the cleaned off oil pan and then ran a bead of silicon gasket maker around it just to be safe. The attached picture wasn't the one I did but it looks really similar.

What does not 'doing it on the road' have to do with avoiding red necks with guns? They're everywhere.

I used to believe that we had the right to own guns. Not so much any more. The 2nd amendment had more to do with forming a national guard than allowing every a$$hat out there to carry a deadly weapon to Target.
Off topic and incorrect. ;)
