That is truly awesome, Proud to Be. I looked up 4500 gallon ponds and was amazed at the size. What an adventure you are on and it tastes good too! It also is beautiful. Could you possibly plant plants that can survive the winter? Would something like bamboo work? Just curious and fascinated. Thanks for sharing. :-) ZView attachment 2055
hi fpelsdca,
I did not invent this pond system, in fact I found it on the net, under bio filters for ponds... for a 4500 gallon pond, I am using 3... 100-150 gallon Rubbermaid tubs with some pvc tubing inside and about 300 plastic pot scrubbers for the bio mass... the only problem is in Oregon during the winter all the plants die off... I would guess that where you live you could run this system year around and have very little clean up... and in most cases just one pump to run it... I planted just " One " tomato plant using this system and it grow to 10' wide 7' tall by 5' deep and I stopped counting the tomato's when it went over 130, I had them coming out of my ears...
