Well then, here's your Groan:I actually like that groan button... makes me laugh.
You did.
You might want to go back to the beginning of this thread and do some reading; there is also another thread about the interview you're talking about; it has been covered in some high detail. Your questions have been answered on the forum, you just have to do some searching and reading.I have recently been treating the Elio news a lot like my recent pension fund roll-over into and IRA (stock market based of course) and try not to follow either one to close since they both have my money and they are up one day and down the next. However, I do find the auto-transmission discussion not what I assumed it was for the Elio, especially since Elio Motors indicated they had "completed engineering" and now it sounds like that may be questionable with it come to transmissions. I just listened to the Autoline AfterHours interview with Elio VP of Engineering and picked up on this first comment about the transmission and it sounded like he was saying the Elio may go initially into production with a manual transmission only and then later in the year offer auto-manual version. Did anyone pick up on that? When asked later about options during production he then did echo what we have heard that production has to produce the desired color and transmission with each order and then all other options come at the marshaling centers. I can drive a manual and may have to settle for one based on what happens but for my wife, my family and friends, some form of automatic is a must. I don't need someone damaging my manual transmission or becoming distracted when driving and have an accident. It would make possible sense that the engineering decision on how to technical interface with the manual transmission for an auto-add-on could be decided and integrated into the initial Elio for later "Pep Boys" after market addition after production.
I would love some comments on my interpretation.
My best suggestion to anyone that has questions or comments directed to Elio Motors you should contact themFound the answer in another thread and it is not good. I would even venture to say this is a breach of contract to "All In" buyers since the Elio has always stated it would have an automatic. At lest that's how I interpreted it. Its sort of like now hearing they don't plan to have three wheels first, just two wheels and will produce a three-wheeler later.
