The counter is now at 65,198 (as of March 13) that's 86 since the 8th. Or ~17 day.

No madder how many reservation this is likely why ELIO may not get a loan. Time and time again these phony companies have walked off with many millions of federal grants and state money. This is just the latest in a long list of them in the name of green.
It was a sham. They knew they had nothing to market and played everyone. Nothing will be done as it has been in every case.
Sad part is Elio really has a product that could make it. But Elio is not on the right side of things not in the right crowd. Had ELIO sent a little love to the right people he would have had his loan.
5.2 million feds, 16 million state plus investor cash. Read it you can't make this stuff up. You will have trouble believing it.
And this is just one. All that tax payer money created 50 jobs. And no one was asking What the heck was going on.

Aquion Energy had just over 150 employees at one time. It wasn't a sham as you say but rather just an unsuccessfully ran business. Building all their infrastructure was too expensive and sucked too much investment money to allow the company to remain viable. They are currently selling their manufacturing. Hopefully, someone will be able to take over where they left off and get us away from lead acid batteries but only time will tell.

Why wouldn't they be real reservations? I don't even think it's automated since the updates seem to happen on only a semi-regular schedule.
