The slow down was to be expected. When Elio stops releasing any new info (I mean REAL info!) about the car or any good news, then it stands to reason interest will wain. What's a shame is that this would happen when they're so close to that 65k mark.

As to the Elio team mentioned above, they need to be out there.... I've known about Elio for about 3 years, have been all in since May of '15, and yet I've never seen one... and I live in the 4th largest city in the country. I mentioned this some time back but I bring it up again. Do a tour of Texas. In one week Elio could have showings in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. That's exposure to a population of over 20,000,000 people! If cost is a problem I'll be happy to help out without pay. I could watch the car and answer questions while the Elio guys eat lunch or go take a.....

Nothing sells like good news
Does attending an auto show (expensive), like Detroit's or doing a road show such a going to a number of large malls have an impact? @Rob Croson, resident graph guru, Is it possible to cut a graph showing reservation rates for the time frame during and two weeks after a car show?

I went to the P5 showing in Dallas. Another one in Houston would be nice. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Elio? (For those not in Texas, it's a REALLY BIG DEAL here.)

I still think that they ought to go to Sturgis. And to the Mother Earth magazine fairs. They will sell more Elios for less money if they pick the demographic that is most likely to buy an Elio rather than big, expensive car shows where 95% of the people are into a much different type of vehicle. We have noticed a pretty small bump from some of the biggest flashiest car venues. As I recall a computer/technology show in Las Vegas gave much better publicity and a greater bump in registration. Elio needs to change their approach and try to get the biggest bang for the buck. WRT volunteers, I already volunteered a year or so ago but I guess they are still considering my offer.

College Campus sporting events! Wrap it in the home teams colors! Talk about a demographic that needs affordable transportation that gets great gas mileage!

Naw, I don't think Elio's done Sturgis, but I've been thinking about doing it as one of our National Events. First we need to get our State Chapters going and it is not to early to do that. Just do it, lol.
I wrote to the aforementioned President letter campaign. I really am waiting for the New DoE Secretary to be installed before we see any results.
As far as volunteering at tour stops, I do it every time, I go. It's a blast grabbing a handful of flyers and handing them out. But, the team will not leave, even if they are invited out for lunch. They take their jobs very seriously. They enjoy the company, but they also watch & listen to us like hawks. We might say or do something wrong and they are quick to correct. It is a lot of fun but OUR company depends on good information getting passed on.

Excellent, targeted marketing. Elio could push the vehicle's weather friendly aspect. A biker could use his Milwaukee iron during warm, dry, biker friendly summer days and use his Shreveport iron during wet weather or winter. As for the term "Shreveport iron", you heard it here first!
