I think so long as there are people who have not seen it(as opposed to heard about it), they will get more reservations. But I'm sure it will indeed slow down. And for each week we don't hear documented miles stones that raise confidence about production, we'll see even less.

But when we do see a substantial milestone we would see comparable renewed rates. But this is all well known. I'm a parrot today I guess. :)
It's not just confidence, milestones are news and news gets reported by people other than Elio.
The 'morning news' isn't going to cover the story "Elio discusses trunk" or "Elio praises road crew", but they might talk about "Elio secures funding" or "shows a new prototype".
It's the same way with Auto blogs or tech sites or this site. Talking about the fluid dynamics of coolant in the engine or some other development process topic gets a dialog started. The most important part of those discussions to me is always that it shows how much thought is going into some component of the vehicle. It shows real science and engineering behind their claims and not just repeating the 84mpg mantra that you see posted every 5 minutes on here.

People talking about your product is far more important in my view than people reading about your product.

Down to 38/day, which is NBFD. As things move forward, interest will pick up.

HOKAY, let's steer this thread on to other subjects... :) Take your pick from below:

I realized that we can now say... "Production is targeted for next September". Kinda cool to be able to say that, inferring "less than a year away".

Reservation numbers have doubled in the last 5 months. Not bad.

I just read an article talking about vehicles made in other countries that will never be sold in the U.S. There was one vehicle made by I believe an Indian company called Tata, and this vehicle was said to not make the weight requirements and laws of the U.S. I didn't know that, certain vehicles can't even be sold in the U.S. simply because they are too light-weight? If true, here's yet another issue that is side-stepped by the Elio being technically a motorcycle under Federal Law.

I like Tata's oooopps, you mean a car.

I'll bet the numbers spike up a bit after the balloon fiesta showing.
One thing we didn't mention, during pre/post-xmas spare spending money will be distracted by holiday spending. However, more people go to the malls, where they may see the Elio. Hopefully those will balance out. And during that time, a mall is a better venue than something outdoors.
I don't think that effect is very strong until November thru January 1. And during January the mall isn't good for the causal encounter, but very good for people who have waited to see the Elio and are now jazzing for something to do.

they are due to come to some yet to be named mall in Raleigh from Dec 12 - 15 .... we hope nothing comes up to sidetrack it .... I have no clue how big of a crowd will attend

Hi Smitty,
I bought the first Ford Transit Connect that was delivered to Perry Ford in Poway, CA Sept 2010. I was driving a Ford F250 at the time and got into an argument with my Grand Daughter over global warming which was being preached by Al Gore in the CA School System. I believe the Global Warming argument came to a stalemate but she won the Carbon Foot Print issue. I went in search of a practical work vehicle and found the Transit Connect on line much like I found the Elio. My first Transit Connect was made in Turkey and I had to have faith that all that I read was true! Like my Elio, I put my money down and faithfully waited but was not able to see, touch, and sit in it like I did with the Elio last Saturday! Bottom like; sometime blind faith in the right cause comes to fruition. Hope to meet you soon at the first annual Elio road rally at Bernardo Winery in San Diego, CA 2015.

forgot to account for the $500.00/ unit (before Sept/04) that will need to be accounted for? Math was not my strong suite, still can't figure 15% tip (but compensated by using 20%).

Aug - Sept daily rates so far, July 30 - Sep 7 ... 200+ per day. We were hoping for 119+ per day for Aug-Sept, still confident we'll beat that. :)

Previous 2-month spans:

Feb-Mar - 83.33 per day
Apr-May - 88.4 (6.1% increase)
Jun-Jul - 118.8 per day (34.4% increase)

How about the following -
We know by the assigned # exactly how many $1500's there are. Haven't seen a break-down for the rest.
Just suppose we each "sponsor" a family member/friend to a $100.00 "gift" to place them on the list for the 100 refundable.
no risk for them, doesn't happen we lose $100.00-- does happen, they buy the car- refund the $100 to us. Don't buy the car get back the $100, sort of a reverse pyramid scheme
