Well, I can't disagree with you on the formal definition of blind spot, but you'll notice when the mirrors are correctly set, there is still a space between 90deg and that angle rearward. The side post on my car for someone who is long like me, overlaps that area. So yes, the mirror hasn't got a blind sport, but in my seat position my car does. And I must look each time (leaning forward) or face the results. Once in a while someone comes straight down that blind alley and I get a little surprise. Here in Phoenix area they just love to Dive for it!Most production cars have blind spots. The mirrors do not. The mirrors are there to mitigate the blind spots. Most drivers do not know how to properly use side mirrors. Here's a hint: If you can see the face of the driver in front of you in their car's side mirrors stay clear of them because they are not thinking drivers.
