@JEBar I have a question -- don't know if there is an answer, but I'll ask it anyway.

Between this site and the BEX mongrel Facebook page, is there an estimate of the number of people interested in the "BEX Mongrel" that want to purchase it??

It may be hard to estimate, but I am curious... Is there a number you feel is realistic??
Whatever the number is, it's getting smaller every day....:(

I do know that Mark has made some in depth study of this area .... don't recall seeing a detailed breakdown

I'll probably get blasted again, but we are 4 years in (this month) on the BEX and there's yet to be a fully completed prototype. There's only one chassis rolling under its own power that we know about. I think probably three restarts on design, but none have been taken to completed chassis, powertrain, body and interior.

I'm guessing, of course, but it seems to me that this vehicle has been handed over to another manufacturing company to complete a fully functional prototype, and we are about 6 months into that process. That's my hope, at least. I probably have as much time waiting on this project as I did in waiting on the Elio.

Another toy like the Slingshot. You have to climb over the doors to get in... Oh, I almost forgot, it doesn't seem to have any doors.... or roof or A/C or automatic transmission. But I'm sure my wife will want me to buy one anyway, after all, it was designed by the guy do did the Cyber Truck.

You're right.... no doors . But they did one better .... the whole front canopy opens, so it's easy to get in and out. No helmets required because it's considered an enclosed vehicle. Hard top is removeable. And my wife has one rule ... she wants to sit next to me.... not in the back seat. I think Mark had the same wife problem, which is why he ended up with the staggered seating.

Why three wheels? My personal interest in an enclosed three wheeler motorcycle was spurred on years ago by the ‘tilting‘ Carver providing enclosure, safety, and my all important feeling of having a motorcycle riding experience. Along came Hello Elio, no tilt, but marketed under $7500, over 70 mpg, 5 star safety compliant. Very affordable around town fun……tilt didn’t matter. I knew the marketing claims were baseless, but I had hope for a fully certified production ready prototype and tested performance claims. The same held true for the since failed Arcimoto certified FUV @ $19,900. I cancelled my FUV from the production queue due to back ordered doors that never materialized. All current FUV owners are frustrated with the lack of parts and service.

So if tilt doesn’t matter……why the continued interest in three wheels, with no local sales, service & parts production start guarantee, and no proven market demand? Why not just buy an affordable sub-compact car from an established auto manufacturer? There are a few ’stylish‘ options in the under to mid $20K range. I understand stylish is in the eye of the beholder. One example:

I got mine for $10K (plus taxes and tags) -- This is why I threw in the towel on the Elio. He wanted $7K -- Nissan wanted $10K. I really didn't think the dealership would honor this add, so I did a screen capture, printed it out and said I want this for $10K!!

As far as 3-wheelers, my desire is to tag the BEX Mongrel as a motorcycle to avoid emissions testing. I had to junk a great running car because I couldn't get it to pass emissions. 3 wheels puts the vehicle into the category of "Motorcycle" which is exempt from testing.

Speaking of emissions -- My girlfriend's car threw a P0456 this afternoon. We'll see if I can find a "Small Evap Leak". Luckily we just went through emissions about 3 months ago, so I have some time to find the leak.
