I enjoyed reading this because if you read over the last two pages you will see where I pretty much pointed out the same things you did. Glad to see others thinking along the same lines. :D:)
Right? I mean we're not the crazy ones are we?

I know the control algorithms will have to be somewhat sophisticated, but I honestly think it's doable. I just think most modern engineering is overly reliant on digital solutions which are NOT always best. In my opinion this is an application well suited to an analog DE computer, with some added redundancy layers. (such as best 2 of 3 wins strategy.)

Interesting.
Expensive, but electric, so gets equivalent of, like, 260 mpg

Moderator Comment: Merged into existing Lit Motors thread

The C-1 is estimated at 674 MPGe.......if/when it gets to production.

No more solar gain than any other moon roof option and discussion has indicated that it is designed for less solar gain. I personally have a moon roof option on my current vehicle.......and its rarely open and then for night time drives. I like the idea of the open road motorcycle feel it may provide on narrow track/cabin vehicles like Elio and the C-1.

Definitely not for use in any southern state... especially not with leather/vinyl seats!

It really does depend on what kind of coating/tinting is on the glass. Today there are plenty of solar reflective and thermally conductive coatings widely available for vehicle, and building, applications which not only block most of the solar energy but can actually serve to keep interiors cooler by absorbing and transferring thermal energy from the interior to the exterior.

Lit Motors is all about using the latest technology and materials in the C-1 Concept. I hope it's not their downfall in getting this concept to production as I have money riding on Lit. Elio is a sure thing.......Lit is somewhat of a gamble at this point in time.

Testing the prototype continues.

Lit Motors definitely has some big technological hurdles they need to overcome which does drive them to need the latest technology and materials. As far as I can see the technological issues are not insurmountable however they will require a good deal of work. The good news for Lit is that for now they are well financed so hopefully they can overcome these hurdles within a reasonable amount of time and without blowing too much money and scaring away their investors.

I don't have any skin in the Lit Motors game however I would like to see them succeed even if I am not sure how economically viable the project itself really is in the long run. If they can get everything worked out well and keep the pricing reasonable enough I could see myself owning one of these vehicles alongside my Elio. :)
