I can't help but wonder.... How much money would the government save if every time an employee needed to make a short trip around town, instead of him (her) checking out a two ton Chevy Suburban they checked out an electric Elio?

The U.S. government owns thousands of these and we all paid for them.

The government would save zero. Suburban exists, Elio does not. Plus the electric Elio was never built and there's no idea of what the range or consumption would be. Instead, they could trade out the Suburbans for Model Y's. That way they can still haul up to 5 people and cargo. Elio is just 2 and barely fits anything.

WOW, You might be right! I got a call yesterday by a man with a very heavy accent. He told me, I am owed $1,320 for a head gasket defect on my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. They have been having a lot of reports on this vehicle, and I am owed a debate. (My 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis died a few months ago and I replaced it with a red one.) I gave him my email address but bulked when he asked which bank I want the money to be deposited in. Not the account number, just the bank name I deal with. No, that's OK, just sent me a check. He said he can't do that and needed the name of my bank. Now, I got dementia but it's not that bad. I was friendly and still very excited, but I must pass on this wonderful offer, just send me a check. He was very nice and ended the call. Gee Whisks, I could of had the money for another Elio deposit and now I don't. I am so bummed out. True story, this really happened. Of course, I called the dealer I bought my new car from, right away and told him what happened, and he told me it was a scam. I told Dan, at Rock Solid Auto Services, in Garrettsville, I love him, thank you, wished him a good day. WOW, Dam, I hate getting old.

Glad you didn't fall for it. A few years ago my wife got scammed out of some money by someone who convinced her he was a cousin she had not seen in years and needed her help. I kept telling her the story didn't sound right and was she sure, but she was convinced it was lagit.... That cost us a few bucks! Now days it seems there are thieves every where.
