Could it be that they've gotten to the point where they even keep their staff in the dark?

Well if they miss their Q3 stated goal of "Plan to sell 100 pre-production vehicles in Q3 2017" that's going to hurt the stock price. I'm still seeing March/April being the tipping point. Elio can't drag "customers" forever.

........or fans will say stuff happens, not Paul's fault, and gamble more money in the lower price stock.

You pay for placement... perhaps they couldn't justify paying for more placement when they should be concentrating on squeezing every penny...

Feds require a amber reflector at the front of the vehicle; it doesn't specify where, other than the front, on both sides; the rear must have a Red reflector.

It's been a while since my time served at a motorcycle dealership (Honda & Yamaha) but my recollection on reflector requirements is amber in the front that must be visible from the sides and red in the rear that must be visible from the sides and rear.
