Webartist, what is your SIL number?
Guess what, with a SIL that high, you won't have to worry at all about the MT - AMT.
EM will have produced 18,000+ Elio's by that time, and I'm pretty sure they'll have things like that worked out.

And it appears that no one has explained the difference between Factory, Marshalling Center and Retail Stores.
You do know what the factory is; so next is the Marshalling Centers, they are the distribution centers where Elio's arrive from the factory, and have any optional equipment installed, THEN they are sent to the Retail Stores for distribution to customers, already equipped with the options the customers ordered. Retail Centers are where you order your Elio, do paperwork, make your payment(s) and then pick up your Elio.
Marshalling Centers are not for retail customers; they are meant to feed Retail Centers; Pep Boys is for having any warranty problems taken care of, additional OEN options can be purchased and installed after you have taken delivery.
In the beginning, they are only opening a few MC's and a few RC; another item that will probably be further along when they get to the 18,000th+ Elio.

There, feel better now? :becky:

I also think EM may need to rethink their initial Elio distribution process to allow at least on-line order and pick up at their Marshaling centers if not their factory. There will be one MC in my state (Atlanta area of course), and I would certainly go there to pick up or even place my order and wait for my completed vehicle.

I read a post recently from someone who stated a long list of "yet to dos" for EM and the probability of being successful being very low and I was impressed and think it was a valid assessment.
I can easily understand a retail store being placed at each marshaling center. This would be easy and allow pick up at the marshaling center.. After all, they are placing a marshaling center at the factor.

That's only until they get the other ones open which will be shortly after production starts.
The are opening the one at the factory to quicken the first however many.
It is supposed to change after a period of time; that time has not been established yet.

Thanks for the review on the centers but I was already well aware of how they would work. That was my point. Its a lot of infrastructure to put in place for vehicle delivery and I would recommend some short cuts at first to get initial production on the streets. Even with shorts cuts and perhaps no AMT at first, what are new owners across the entire US to do about test drives and/or pickup if vehicles unless we just rely on shipment from wherever we can get an Elio. Based on previous individuals production calculators/guesses, I should get a vehicle in about (I say about) 3 to 4 mounts but again, I expect nothing possibly in 2017. I entered the reservation with EM forecast for production at the end of 2016 (with and AMT) and you see where we are today. As for feeling better, for me it not about feelings, its just trying to gain a reasonable expectation for EM from EM and others. I well knew the risk when I took with my reservation and I assure you my life is full of other more important and exciting things than to get to concerned with the current vaporware we are discussing. Like I said, I wish EM the best but the what and when of EM is still all over the map and to soon to project and all of a sudden useful information from EM has dried up.

It is an incredible journey for all of us. We paid for the ride. Each day can be different. You can sit back and enjoy the ride or hang on screaming as it goes up and down. Welcome aboard. Some day I will see you in Shreveport.:D

Stop whining!
From what you just said, it appears that you did not read the agreement.
(Oh! And it wasn't in fine print!)
It specifically guaranteed nothing.
No vehicle, no money back, nothing.
There was no forecast. Just a target.
Grow up and accept the fact that while we all would like our shiny Elio in our driveway, we were guaranteed nothing.
So here's your reasonable expectation..........
You will get your Elio when and if you get it.

MT and AMT should be made together just like any other vehicle.

The E series will be followed by the S series. (I don't remember where they said that)

Engineering is NOT done. It would be absolutely stupid to build 23 and then 100 Elios for "evaluation" if NO changes would be made. Think about it. "Hey, Paul. 60 of the 100 Elios in the fleets caught on fire and got chickenpox." "Good to know. We aren't changing anything though. Remember, engineering is finalized."

No. It isn't complete yet.

As long as Elio starts their 100 in December, they can "make" their self-imposed timeline. I think it's time to drop all the thinking that those 100 have to have a certain amount of miles and quit complaining that you can't run a good controlled test that way. Who gives a crap... the point of the 100 is most likely to have a chance to work out the assembly bugs without straddling any of us with "practice builds". I'm sure that low number holders don't want half baked Elios. Selling the first 100 to fleets allows Elio to get their assembly process going before delivering cars to those who have been waiting so long. Otherwise, they'd have to build cars for destruction... wasteful.

I think all reservationists read and understand the bold print, but actually believe EM's anticipated production schedule at the time they reserve. They are confident the Elio will be in their driveways within a year after the reservation commitment. A good example of that is that I thought the Elio was going to be production ready back in the anticipated 2010 production earlier days. I still can't test drive an Elio prototype and am no closer to buying an Elio now than then. I'm not whining, but rather still waiting a little less patiently.

So what you said is "The when and if you get it" Elio Owner's Forum? :)
