The perfect scenario for revolution! Just ask Marie Antoinette.
Things are quiet short term now, but it's slowly emerging- protests at Walmart/Starbucks/McD
As long as food prices and gas stays low, folks will suffer, but sit home.
Both food prices and gas are kept artificially low- check gas prices anywhere else on the planet, as is food. BTW we consume 25% of petroleum worldwide (and kill a lot of people to sustain our thirst). Watch the drought in S Cal - directly affect food prices. Enough, I'm going back to my "reality" show, and see real people, hoarders, 600lbers, kids with webbed feet, etc.(lol)

I am sure that it would have been difficult to start Elio production in the 3rd Quarter of 2015 but the delay was costly in terms of PR and consumer confidence. I think there may be another explanation for it. Gas is $1.83 a gallon here and is expected to fall further in the next few weeks. Introducing the Elio when gas is very nearly as cheap as it has ever been* might result in big yawns from the buying public. When OPEC and the other producers get their production under control and the price of gas starts to climb the sales of high mileage cars will as well. Maybe Paul is a more astute business man than we give him credit for.

* When I was a teenager over half a century ago an hour of labor would buy 3 gallons of gasoline. That is pretty close to the situation today. Larry
For me, an hour of minimum wage would buy about 4 gallons of gas (back in 1986). Now, you can buy about 3 1/2. When gas was $3/gallon, that same hour only bought 2 1/4 or so. Still, OPEC is losing some control over oil production as the US, Canada, and others aren't members but are beginning to import less and export more.

Larryboy, I feel that the gas will climb and the MPG verses the gas cost isn't that big of an impact on Elio sales. For me it is the total savings in all I do. I rather send less on transportation and burnt gas vapor so I can spend the savings on enjoying something else. I just put in gas at $1.69/gal. Crazy! At the same time it is hurting other businesses. For everything gained, something is lost... as the saying goes.
I expect gas to go back above $3 toward the end of this year. I work in the Oil and Gas business, the big boys won't let it stay this low for long.

I had a friend named Jose. He was so happy with how welcoming and compassionate we Americans are. He snuck into a baseball game one time but couldn't find a seat. So he shimmied up the flag pole. Then just before the game started, the whole crowd turned to him and sang "Jose, can you see...?"

What king of bollucks is this?
