In the real world only the strongest survive and they don't need protection from the PC folks
No in the real world the strong protect the weak. I do agree that as a society we cringe too quickly but some run rampant saying or doing whatever they wish and then crying about being treated bad. Act civilized and none will correct you.

As long as you agree with them and accept their value structure

I think the hate against Personal Computers is unfounded. :p
When I purchased my current personal computer, I turned my old one in to the store setting it at the service window for disposal. I asked the service person if it mattered what condition the computer was in. They replied "no". I then proceeded to remove it from the service window, layed it on the floor, and jumped on it with both feet completely caving it in. (It felt sooo good.) I then returned it to the service window, said "thank you", turned around and walked past the line of people behind me. I received more than one "thumbs-up".

The control system for a personal computer is identical to the control system of a combination lock. In a combination lock, you turn in the correct direction then find and stop on the correct number then you turn in the other direction and find and stop on the correct number and repeat this until you accomplish your task (open the lock). With a computer you go to the correct page and find and click on the correct symbol, then you go to the next page and find and click on the correct symbol, and repeat this until you accomplish you task.

The control system for a computer is basically identical to the control system for a combination lock. The thing is this: combination locks were designed to be difficult.

And people can't figure out why they become frustrated with their computers?

I hope you either kept the old hard drive or drilled a bunch of holes init before turning the old rig in for disposal.

I don't know .... I got pretty upset with mine this morning .... if it was anywhere near as smart as its supposed to be, it wouldn't let me hit the wrong keys so often ..
computers aren't smart; they are dumb. As an old teacher put it: "Computers don't do what you want them to; they do what you tell them to."
Except Microsoft Word. That program does what ever it feels like!

I am actually surprised, that you are surprised that anyone would ask questions and for "proof" about what progress (if any) that Elio has made towards getting into production, especially after Elio has been continually changing their story about delivery dates and has been doing this for over 8 years.

Everyone who put money down with the hope of buying one, is asking the same thing. I also bet the Parish, where Elio promised to hire 900 people by the end of this year, wonders where the proof is too.

Elio has shown work towards design, and I expect that since they are a design company. But Elio is not a manufacturing company, so I am asking if they are making any progress in that area. So far the answer has been no.

I share your concerns....and agree with your analysis of Elio Motors.

I think Mr Elio has designed an interesting vehicle...

But...for a company that was found in 2008...I too question why there is not a fully operational specification ready test mule equipped with all the promised features already in existence...

One could argue that they are currently testing an engine that is designed specifically for the Elio Vehicle...but this is a R&D project that should have been finished years ago...and the engine represents only a small percentage of all the remaining R&D and component integration to bring this vehicle to market...

So based on the LACK of current verifiable R&D progress reports from Elio Motors...$6,800 base MSRP...84 MPG...and 5 Star saftey ratings are just unverified marketing promises...

I would love to own an Elio Vehicle...I think it's a wonderful small volume niche vehicle...I guess time will tell whether it ever reaches the production phase...
