Soooooo, I wore my $1,000 t-shirt to an electric car show in Austin last weekend. Short story long, it was truly amazing how many people came up and were asking if "we" were getting our autocycles! It was an amazing experience to run across that many people that were even aware of Elio, much less the enthusiasm everyone still showed for the Elio concept! Only 1 person was a negative asswipe, but the rest were quite happy to wax nostalgic about what should have been.

Even though I have resigned myself to the inevitable and have gone on, I wanted to pass on that there are still many out there that would still like Elio to come to pass!

I'm still enjoying the hell out of my Chevy Volt, and can verily see a day coming where an all electric vehicle will be in the household. Maybe not for long trips, but that's why we still have a gas burner in the household.

Keep on keepin' on y'all!

I haven't totally given up, but... I got permission years ago to use the Elio name in a book I was writing. I'm ready to publish, but for the sake of not looking foolish I replaced all the Elio references with the term autocycle or three-wheeler.

It's sad that instead of helping the economy with "Made in America" labor, Elio Motors is instead hurting it. I wonder if the plant could have been used by someone else years ago. Today, the robots are about worthless and I doubt there is anything else of much value there to another business. Perhaps it's their way of revenge against the Parish for having brought the lawsuits?

Has there been sightings of the 2 fully completed $7.5 Million Elio engineering vehicles zipping around over the last 2-3 years? I assume Paul is using one as his daily driver and Hari is having some fun driving the other? The best way to attract funding is by allowing private and public venture capitalists to see the vehicle driving the streets and offering them test drive experiences to create some excitement about funding the vehicle. Doesn’t make sense to think those fun to drive Elio prototypes are setting in storage somewhere gathering dust.
