Phantom black with an imaginary super charger that kicks it to 5 seconds in quarter mile. I will have an imaginary top that will be both a 100% sun roof and a top that slides into my trunk extender. My "dream lover" that Bobby Darrin sang about will be in the rear seat and she brings her own unlimited credit card and she loves steak and agrees mac & cheese is a vegetable. My wheels will recoil into waterproof wells as I slide into the bay as I sing "Puff the magic dragon". Oh almost forgot, the gas cap will be on the left.....and STILL NO FUNDING!!!! I thought I drop by but unfortunately no new news or update anywhere to be found! Can EM at least give us an update on the new engine's performance??? I mean it's running, I don't think they need that much funding while testing, is it really too much to ask to give us some figures even if it's on a stand??? I know, patience, right? Laws are being changed and it's a good thing for an enclosed trike's future but there won't be any future for EM is funding does not happen for them! So for now, what color are you fellas getting for your imagined ELIO?
If they need 125 million dollars to fund the Elio, all we need to do is have each of the 41000 current reservation holders kick in $3048.78, and Elio would be funded, THAT simple ! Then, each contributor would have a certain number of shares in the company, and would receive dividends on the profits.

whoa, slow your roll, better to get that 41000 to go all in at $1,000 before you ask for three grand more.If they need 125 million dollars to fund the Elio, all we need to do is have each of the 41000 current reservation holders kick in $3048.78, and Elio would be funded, THAT simple ! If some of the people don't or can't contribute, open up some public investing invitations with a few ads in the car magazines, and newspapers, etc.
I'm sure it can be done. If we can put a man on the moon, we can get 41000 investors to kick in 3 grand.
Welcome to the forum. Your concern is not without merit! It's a given that it's not easy to start a car company (and unconventional to boot) from the ground up and the biggest hurdle is to fund it's production which is where EM is facing right now. And unless EM announce otherwise, nobody but nobody knows where they stand at this point with securing the needed funds so don't get swayed one way or the other because what you read outside of EM are just "opinion". OK? That said, EM's advertised price of $6,800 is at best their best estimate so be ready to shell out way more $$$ out the door if ELIO ever comes to fruition. I have 1K non refundable and $100 refundable deposit but I budgeted $10,000. for this and I'm only getting a manual trans. Add at least $850- up for automatic, $200- up for cruise, $700-up for destination charges, dealer prep if any, plus local taxes, lic, doc fees, cost of inflation and that DREAM of owning a $6,800 ELIO are only for the naïve! I'm not here to discourage you or anybody but that's just the reality for some that can accept it. I want my ELIO baaaad but I may have to re-consider it if the price goes over my 10K limit. On the other hand, I will be owning a one-of-a-kind trike that I know will save me big bucks or to heck with the savings and tweak it to my liking like installing a turbo charger, a small, better balanced 4 cyl. etc. But that's just me! Like I said, it remains an IMAGINED VEHICLE until somebody infused the needed cash to get this thing rolling off the assembly line. That said, I'll be checking back in a few weeks, month for EM's official version of updates.Dear Friends,
Certainly, I doubt that I will be alone when I say that I am discouraged. I was hoping to buy this car in 2015. Recently I have heard that the release date has been pushed out to 2016. A week or so ago I called the Elio people to try and obtain data on the cost of the options listed on the site. It would be nice if I could plan on the total end cost of this vehicle. Given what I read in the posts on this site, nobody else could get this data either. Oh well...I am really hoping that I can put one of these cars in my driveway, but my confidence is not high. Does anybody here have any good news? I would love nothing better that to state that my doubts and concerns are unfounded.
Oh....I neglected to answer the original question......my "imagined Elio" is jet black (licorice).
Please Write,
A little off topic, but shouldn't this be Q3? All of the companies l've worked for start Q1 in Oct. Is Elio doing this different?
What makes you think "It's not happening"?
Who gave you a guarantee that the second a program started you would see results?
Patience is a virtue. The new SEC rule won't let much happen on that front before June 1.
And that leaves 13 months.
So if you look at things realistically, that means 4 methods, and that's a reason for getting an additional capital firm involved.
As for the meds comment, your generation seems to use a lot more of them than mine.
So... how long do you figure it takes the average person or company to raise $230 million? I'm glad Elio does not have all his eggs in one basket. It took Tesla about 6 years to raise the big bucks and that's counting Elon Musk's billions.
