Ended up 3rd overall. I can't figure out how the points work, but we should have enough to go to district championships in Maryland on April 6th.
It was a long weekend...
It's strange how, after winning 2nd out of 40 last week and 3rd out of 40 this week, winning two design awards, virtually assuring a place in the championships; yet it's pretty disappointing that we didn't win.
So you're not done, are you?Congrats on making it to the tournament again! It's a rough game and many machines are limping by the time eliminations begin. Ours made it to match 17 before a corner of the frame collapsed.
We're only in year 3 of district play, but it seems that any team that seeds high and gets into eliminations twice has accumulated enough points for the district championship.
So you're not done, are you?
{EDIT} Oh, that's right. You got the chairman's award. You're going to the District Championships anyway. Nice!
And those points, Dist #1, Dist #2, Dist Champs, all combine to determine if you go to St. Louis? I think I got it. It's complicated. Our second event is this weekend in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. We don't need more points for the District Championship, but they still count toward the World Championship in St. Louis. Points earned at the District Champs count triple!
3rd place in the District so far, huh?Our second event is this weekend in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. We don't need more points for the District Championship, but they still count toward the World Championship in St. Louis. Points earned at the District Champs count triple!

Good question. So the World Championship is in St. Louis again this year? VERY cool! I wonder how much longer though. Since the Ram's left town there's been all kinds of discussions on what to do with the Edward Jones Dome...Most say "level it".
