While I get what you're saying, and I'll use the Tesla Roadster chassis as an example, you can build a chassis that has all of the suspension and drive train attached to it, an injection molded body would not have the structural integrity to meet safety requirements, and over time will crack where the doors mount, and would have zero rollover protection without a steel and aluminum skeleton underneath the bodywork.You guys are thinking too small. The whole vehicle could be molded one shot. GM showed an electric "platform" that the body could be set on. Probably the biggest concern is safety. Afraid a plastic body would easily burn.
