It's such an awesome visual to see so many in all parts of the country. Well, except south Dakota LOL! But this is only a fraction of all the Elio owners and it's staggering to think what this would look like with all of them listed!

I filled out the form but photoshopped me in Yellow just for fun!...

Is there any way to edit mine? It's the only one pinned on Des Moines, IA. I moved up to $500 all in a while back.

THE CAR IN QUESTION IS THE PREDECESSOR OF THE ELIO , THE HMV FREEWAY .
THESE CARS WERE MARKETED AS A 100mpg COMMUTER CAR BACK IN 1980-82 .
THE THREE WHEEL LAYOUT ALLOWED THEM TO BE LICENSED AS A MOTORCYCLE IN MOST STATES .
SOUND FAMILIAR ?

THEY WERE BUILT IN MINNESOTA AND AT $3500 THEY WERE NOT CHEAP .
700 OF THEM WERE PRODUCED .

There is at least 1 reservationist in SD that posts here periodically. The tour should have stopped either in Sioux Falls or Rapid City instead of totally ignoring certain parts of the country.

Is that a rear-view mirror on the fender of your HMV Freeway?

FREEWAYS CAME WITH A MIRROR MOUNTED ON THE TRAILING EDGE OF EACH FENDER .
EARLY CARS HAS SQUARE ONES , LATER CARS HAD ROUND MIRRORS . THESE ARE BOTH '81 MODELS .

WHATEVER THE SHAPE , IT WAS AN AWFUL LOCATION THAT MADE IT HARD TO SEE ANYTHING .
THERE WAS ALSO THE PROBLEM WHERE THE DOOR WOULD HIT THE LEFT ONE AND KNOCK OT OFF ALIGNMENT .
JUST BEING HONEST .

I always liked the idea of putting the mirrors up high above the drivers forward line of sight, but the look of it takes some getting used to.
Then again so do trucker's mirrors. So why not? Up there, they are pretty close and can be a bit smaller.

I GOT ON THE OTHER ELIO RESERVATION MAP QUITE EASILY
EVEN THOUGH THEY REQUIRE A $1000 RESERVATION NUMBER .

THEY ALSO SHOW SERVICE CENTER LOCATIONS WHICH IS A NICE TOUCH .

THIS MAP IS SOMETHING ELSE , I HAVE SENT MY STUFF IN TWICE ,
WAITED OVER A MONTH AND STILL DON'T HAVE A BALLOON OVER MY HOUSE .

IS ANYONE DOING UPDATES ANY MORE ?
