For the uninitiated like myself, is there significance to reaching 2X the stated goal? Is that what is meant by "Break the glass"?

In the A+ papers to the SEC, EM stated what they would do with money collected above 25m. i.e., they can.

I don't know how much more, but certainly not above 50m, the offical maximum from alternative public funding, so that's the glass ceiling. It's a mystery if/when EM and SE will shutoff the collection of 'expressions'. However, reaching above 25m insures money in the face of false 'expressions' and above 50m insures collection below the glass ceiling. Since this extra cash could help push EM over the bottleneck of self-sufficiency, it remains interesting to me.
Extra collection, also makes EM more attractive for all other forms of funding, also easing the *'bridge' between orders and deliveries. (* reference to bridge funding)

Hi Lilly, you captured something I preach to my kids and that is about paying attention. Far too often adults including me sometimes completely fail to get the main idea or totally grasp something based of visual or sound bites.

The ones that annoy me so are the "protest" groups out there calling for the banishment of this that and the other based on their ADD-rattled point of view. Roll through some Yahoo articles and then flip through the comments and you'll see what I am talking about.

A big portion of us have a listening and comprehension problem hence the note that you made about Facebook. IMHO Facebook is the devil's work and you won't find me there. ( just kidding ).

You won't find me there, either, as they claim the right to sell my work without credit or compensation, then let me take the fallout when there's no model release and someone's annoyed. No Facebook for this photographer. Or Flickr. same problem.

I'm going to be really, really curious to see what the total is when participant #10,000 comes along! At least for that moment you can do the bid-per-participant average in your head!

In the age of downloading without merit, credit or compensation I can see why.

Mine boils down to behavioral issues both in myslef and others. I have a terrible foot in mouth disorder

In my head? :-) no that hurts.. According to the latest chart, ($3734 average expression) * 22 + $37,250,199 = $37,332,347 or 149.33%

I sure hope Ari's chart is true. Elio will hit 50 million dollars worth of pledges about the time the P-5 is unveiled at the big do in LA California. I imagine the wonderful exciting press coverage that will kick off the next round of fund raising. Hopefully the SEC will turn loose this one. Into P-6 - P-30 build and testing coffer money. You know they are only in the process of collection or selling the stock to the accredited investors? Hopefully that will be tucked in within the next few weeks and the P-5 will be bought and paid for.
The DOE is waiting on the SEC 's answer, to approve the factory start money.
If the SEC continues to diddle, Elio will continue collecting the names and information on more possible investors (pledges, lol) So, be it. Elio is sitting pretty ... prettier than ever. Hot Dang, This is going to work. We're going Public !!!
