Rusty stated that this is a very small portion of the needed money. It is more to show interest and viability of the Elio. They are at 80% approx. of funding needed to start production thru other fund raising activities. This is per our conversation. So hang tight. We will be seeing news here in a few months.

When does PE specifically get to touch THIS money?

Funding Goal 117% Reserved $29,418,297
Given it's a Tuesday, next Monday should see both 120% reserved and 45k vehicle reservations hit. That's couple weeks later than I had first thought, but back then we were getting 1mil/day during the initial 30day period. The numbers by next Monday should be a very tasty combo in any case.

StartEngine is gonna love their approximately $400,000 fee (depending on how many actual transactions there are). It's enough to put them cash-positive in their first 3 months of operation. Goody on them. Of course, there aren't many start-ups with as much pre-lanuch publicity and a faithful fan base like EM's, but they have toy be delighted.

It's not only interest in EM that's being proved by this exercise, it's proof of the crowd-funding-for-equity that's being demoed as well.

Perhaps this has already been discussed, but it's hard to tell in a 200+ page thread.

I believe this whole charade of "promise" to invest should be viewed with insane skepticism by everybody here. Does anybody here really think Elio will get a legit 25+ million dollars out of this? I just don't see it.

I will be honestly surprised if even half of the "expressed interest" comes to fruition. I think people here need to lay off the optimistic kool-aid some. When you've got people named "Super Man" pledging $500,000 in this total, that should tell you a healthy portion of this "expressed interest" is BS

Even discounting fakes, others like me have expressed interest (a small amount in my case) but have no idea what will be offered in return.

If investing doesn't make sense from a financial standpoint when we see the actual offering from Elio, it'll be a no go.

I was under the impression that they removed the "Super Man" crap... I'll bet they'll get the money. Some will be purchasing more than they expressed in the interest, some will back out, but I'll bet if you are wanting to pledge and wait too long, you won't be legally allowed to because Elio will hit the legal cap fairly quickly... Especially once that little P-5 shows up. Huh, I wonder if they could be waiting for that to be done before they offer up the stock... could be.

I'm pretty sure you's grossly underestimating both the determination of Elio supporters -- who seem to be the main group of "investors" -- to get this car built. Likewise, there are people who see the opportunity and have the money to speculate. For them, this is a high-risk, high-reward move. It is, by all accounts (even Elio's) a risky venture, but all the people on this forum at least are well aware of the risk -- and those who have expressed interest are willing to put their money down. What it will all add up to, I don't know, but I'm guessing north of $20 million and quite possibly $25 million -- the over-subscription will play a big role in that.
