. . . . but for now I actually think this is a sure thing, that it will come out and be an actual 'car' company, at least for the first year or 2...

The natural roll for these things for automakers, if they make it past 6months of production seems to be 3-6years. By then it's painfully clear things are shaping up or falling off the cliff. Just my observation.

I'm sure you've noticed it, but of course I'll say it, the A+ reservations are now back down to thier lower rate. Not that it will change any planning for the SEC submission at this point.

Yea, after 2 or 3 years, if the Elio sells well I can totally see the other car manufactures getting into the 3-wheeled game, I am almost positive Honda or Toyota could do it better, let's face it, they have really deep pockets. That being said their 'car' would probably start at $12K. Maybe I am selfish (maybe ha, ha) but as long as they make a year or 2, I'll get one. That's really all I (we) can hope for, for now. As far as the A+, look in less then a month they made it to the goal, imagine letting it go for 3+ months and they might get near $50M, who knows.

I go back and forth on whether the big guys will get in this game. Part of me says, yes they will jump on this market and perhaps take it over - more expensively, as you say.
But part of me thinks that they will be happier with higher priced - higher mark-up vehicles and use Elio to buy CAFE credits from, there-by allowing them to stick with their low MPG high-mark-up vehicles.

Unless major changes in the regulation are made ELIO will never have any credits to sell. Café credits do not apply to motorcycles and while many states are giving products like ELIO some wiggle room on defining them. They still will not be a car.

Agreed. However, the Elio epitomizes what these credits are for. Gets people out of gas guzzlers and into efficient commuters. Let's hope they use common sense with some of these changes.

IF they sell as well as I think the first 2 years, then yes, I think the big players will jump in, maybe even a couple of motorcycle companies will give it a try (imagine a Harley Davidson fully enclosed 3 wheeler), I do think there are some side-liners who are waiting to see if this pans out. Trust me if there is money in it, "they will come".

It looks to me the time has past to end this phase of 'testing the waters' that WAS scheduled to end July 31 and move on. Finish the crossing of the T's and dotting the I's and J's on that paper work, get it filed. I understand Elio wanting to collect email addresses of all the interested investors but we can clearly see the pool has dried up. Nothing was kicked in with that piss poor forbes interview. (Wasn't Paul charming?) Taking two or three more weeks to finish it is ridicules. No, I don't know what is involved, but they've been working on it since June 19th.
And the P-5 was started the first of June. Pictures or video would be nice. But, I'll be there next Friday/Saturday to see it and I have high hopes of doing so. I'm going to have my granddaughter (s) with me, so getting arrested isn't in the plans.

I don't see EM being a one trick
pony. If they do pull it off the future possibilities are significant.....
