Some bits of this I've never quite understood. For instance, the engines -- EM knows how many they're going to build, and they aren't going to be subject to redesign at this point. So why not just crank 'em out? There must be a number of other parts -- gas tanks, wheel assemblies, body panels -- that they can be certain of. So doing them in batches, starting yesterday, would make sense to me. But I may not understand fully what's involved or how the process works. Can anyone, like you, Ty, shed some light?

Excellent question! I can only imagine the logistical nightmare, though I imagine this is where Comau's expertise comes in - and probably not cheap.

My guess is they can't do pre-production of parts in general until after the P5 Build. It seems after that point they know the fit and it's a go at any point in time. Also, no sense in warehousing parts and engines until funding is secured. I wonder how the P5 build is going? I also wonder about the engine since there has been no update on it either.
