Maybe we can send Melowese Richardson to lobby DoE Secretary Dr. Ernest Moniz for expedited treatment of the ATVM loan?
But on a serious note, the financial world moves at its own pace. All you are doing is causing other people stress with this type of comment.
Which part of my comment did you find inaccurate and stressful? I've said I'm willing to invest in EM -- as a speculation and as a show of support. But that doesn't change my opinion that attracting major funding sources without giving up control is extremely difficult, which is why the ATVM loan guarantee is still vital. That's analysis, not doom-saying. If I'm wrong, show me where I'm wrong and I'll happily apologize and delete my comment. Otherwise, I stand by it and by my right to express it here.

I can think of several ways EM might raise the needed capital, but they would all involve some change of strategy or modification to the mission. Something's gotta give, and if it doesn't the DOE has to come through. We've made progress, but there's a huge gap that must be overcome in the next few months. I'm sure the company is busting its butt on this, and can't talk about it for obvious reasons. But the gap between funds need and funds on hand or predictably available is still huge.

Sorry to disagree about the ATVM loan guarantee's importance. Short of the Tooth Fairy making a large donation, I don't see what else can provide the scope of funding needed without insisting on equity (i.e., control). I do think that if the prototypes are built, tested, and publicized in a timely manner, the chances of getting the ATVM loan guarantee (and of attracting other investors) go way up.

Elio needs to haul ass and get those things done! As it is, no way in hell is a plant operational before sometime next summer -- and it needs to be running by then because Caddo Parish will pull the plug if it isn't. Their extension ends some time next summer -- I think in June.

What you need to do is stop trying to panic people.

Garbage like that is not helpful and does nothing but upset people because there is nothing they can do about it.
Unless you would like to tell us what can be done your comment is irrelevant.
And, is the production a requirement on Elio (feel free to cite reference) or is it on IRG. Keep in mind that there is no contract between Elio and Caddo Parish. There is some kind of rental agreement between the IDB and IRG, so maybe the knitting mills people count toward those jobs.

EM needs to expedite the P5 and have a fully tested production prototype before the ATVM loan WILL BE approved.
EM told us all (to include the DOE) long ago that the P5-P30 would be built and tested and we were/are all waiting for that first P5 build to validate a IAV engine installed Production Elio. If EM doesn't have the funding to build one P Series ($700, 000) they are not financially solvent as a startup company which I believe is a DOE loan requirement.......having the capability to repay the ATVM low interest loan.

I like to look at things as they are. Panic is not my purpose and if you're feeling panicked by what seems to me truthful analysis, that's coming from you, and not from my information. I support Elio. They've made good progress. Obstacles remain. That does not mean panic is called for.

Regarding the situation with the Parish, you are correct, the Parrish doesn't directly have anything to do with the plant lease, and I'm not certain who would be levying the fines. I don't take this issue of fines too seriously, because the folks in Shreveport would be nuts to endanger the project if it's even somewhere near succeeding. But there is a deadline, and it does have consequences, unless a new agreement is reached. Source, since you requested one: http://www.ksla.com/story/28037171/...uld-face-fines-with-further-production-delays.

I'm not negative about Elio. I'm concerned. I do in fact see some things they could do, but don't want to do, for reasons I actually understand and approve of. One would be fleet sales to foreign governments. Another is seeking foreign investment capital. There are some others I won't mention, because I think Paul would sooner drop dead than agree to them.

So, and this is the point I was trying to make in the first place, the ATVM loan guarantee is critical. I frankly think a public letter writing campaign would have good results, and that getting a senator or two or even the White House to push DOE on this would accomplish much. I don't know whether Elio has invested a lot of lobbying effort or money to make that happen, but it would be a priority for me if I were part of management.

Did I read somewhere that the DoE tries hard to keep politics out of it's business?
I know,, like trying to keep politics out of a forum. and trying to get "the public" to do anything is hard.
I remember not many voted on that ?vote.gov? thing a while back.

1. Someone over on ElioMotors Facebook suggested a write in to DoE and the ElioMotors ID said don't do it and implied that DoE was pretty much a done deal. (Note the use of implied.)
2. I'm not panicked, but what seems truthful to you seem like yelling "fire" in a theater to me.
3. It is financial penalties in the contract with RACER Trust, not fines. But that's like any contract. Subject to re-negotiation.

Thanks for the reference.
