I think the P5 will get the DOE in gear. EM stated over a year ago that they were in the process and would have the 25 + prototypes built and tested. My guess is the DOE is still waiting for that milestone to happen along with the rest of us. The good news is that it's only 15 + or - more weeks until the P5 unveil.
Why would the DOE approve EM's ATVM Loan Application without a drive train tested production prototype? I won't invest another dime until I see the P5 driving around the test track at top speed. Don't blame the DOE. I feel they will approve the loan when they are assured all the criteria is met. Go DOElio!

Nothing to do with meeting any criteria. That can be changed wave ignore in a heart beat. The DOE is a political arm of the government.
They need a thumbs up or down from the power. It has not come yet.

I read a report on the DOE program a while back and I can't find it now. The key part was one manufacturer reported that they had experienced bureaucratic requirement creep in attempting to qualify for one of these loans until they went bankrupt in an effort to meet the creeping requirements. I don't trust government agencies that can modify requirements at will.
I will keep looking and post a link when / if I can find it.
Then why have criteria? I realize politics is a game but meeting and proving that the minimum criteria is met for a DOE low interest loan program doesn't seem unrealistic for any political motivation.
What would be political is if they approve the loan before the P5 is built and tested to be certain it meets the minimum program standards. If it meets the criteria and is not approved.........also politics in play.

But the indications never go down. I'm sure the -gaming- skills on both sides has been upped ( bogus vs admins ). All said and done, I don't think the SEC A+ requires an exact 25m, just a reasonable evidence of public interest, and yea maybe also believable list of investors. I think SE can provide that even now.
Anyway the -game- does play onward.

This is intimidating! It seemed like we were doing so well until the false reservations started rolling in last week. Now it's like it scared everyone away and we're at a crawl... Everyone just needs to bump up their reservation another 10%!
