Very disappointed from chat. First Jerry seemed excited to say 2 deliveries then 4 then 8 then maybe they could produce 16 a month. I guess at #391 that puts me several years away! He also said if you know of a place that they can manufacture let him know? Then I asked if the deliveries were on schedule an he said that their is no schedule. That's funny because in his order letter to me he said delivery in Q3 2017 just like on his web site. Then lastly he said there will be no A/C in the first Solos and that you should just roll down your windows. That may work in Canada but as a commuter vehicle in the U.S. 80% of the country has a hot or humid summer, not fun with your suit on going to work, if I wanted another motorcycle I would of bought one! No ABS, no regen, no air bag, and no air. Sounds like Fred Flinstones car.
It didn't bother me at all! WHATEVER'S IN IT, I'M ALL FOR IT! :DWhat matters to me personally is which of the 3wheeler start up companies will be first to actually hand the keys! I'll be happy just to see EMV do that and see the first few of them driven away by the customers! At least I know it's real, it's happening, it's a done deal. I think we've all waited enough for an enclosed 3wheeler to come to fruition but it's not an easy task for these start ups. Question is do I really need it?? The low projected priced EV or ICE 3wheeler and the projected savings is what drove me their way so yes, I do need it! SOLO, ARCIMOTO, ELIO, ARCIMOTO, ETC., anyone of them will surely bring the kid in me with limited budget.;)

This thread isn't so much about electric cars, but rather an enclosed three wheeler EV motorcycle and the opportunity to finally buy one.

However, the Bolt does look good, as does the soon to be available Tesla Model 3.

No doubt and understandable at 2.5x the price of the Solo.

Why just have a compliance car, just wait for the Tesla Model 3 which will be extraordinary. And a complete worldwide supercharger network.

Bolt isn't a compliance car, though. It is scheduled for nation-wide availability by September, and has a 238-mile range. And it has CCS quick charging. Tesla's network of chargers is all well and good, but CCS stations are expanding nationwide as well.

I agree, the Model 3 is great: all the fancy Tesla gizmos like autopilot and touchscreen consoles, plus the free charging network. But just because a car isn't a Tesla, doesn't make it a "compliance car". And since 99% of EV charging is done at home from a Lvl 1 or Lvl 2 charger, the fast charging network isn't as big a deal as the advertisements make it out to be. Personally, I'd rather just drive an Elio for those long road trips :)
