The added door didn't add cost to the MSRP. It likely will save cost by simplifying the manufacturing process. AC is a $1K option so we can have both 2 doors and AC.

I suppose you could remove the Solo's doors and sell them as replacement parts as a cost savings measure.

My math skills are diminishing as I age, however 2 is greater than 1, therefore the cost for two must be greater than the cost for one. Unless, EM can multiply the loss by increasing volume. In that case it would become profitable. You have to draw a BIG salary to agree with this.

The second door was there from the beginning. All they did was put the handle on the outside and make the latch functional.

Rick meant that they would save money by making the same Solo for countries that drive on the right side and those that drive on the left.

So how much is a door handle as opposed to having to run two different configurations on the line?

A Solo test sit photo with both doors off, showing that 2 hinged doors & latches were part of the earlier Solo pre-production builds. Looks like a comfortable sitting position. Ingress/egress may take a little more effort.

Thanks for posting that video W. Willie. They all looked good, ReVa from India by far offer the range that's competitive.

Nice they keep us in the progress loop. Jerry Kroll mentioned some time ago that Canadian compliance testing requires crash testing which will be very interesting.

November is a long way from April. Even though there was never a Solo SIL program as such...
It sounds like some of us in the US just got bumped up a bit. We have one Canadian member that holds the Solo #10 reservation.
