Its a race between this and the Elio to see who gets my money.
If you've put money down on an Elio, Electra Meccanica will match it, bringing the price down by up to $1,000 (to $14,500 US). A/C is a "mandatory option," so I don't know if that adds to the base price or, since it's mandatory, it's already figured into the $15,500. YES, it does have heat, but it's rear-wheel drive. It's got an LED digital speedo, doors on BOTH sides, small trunk in front and small hatch in the back and it's far more attractive than the Elio. A big downside for me is ground clearance of just 5". The YouTube video shows that its flat bottom will protect it from speed bump damage, but it also shows some ugly chips/gouges on the bottom edge of the fiberglass rocker panels. It's not for the long haul, with a range of only 100 miles, but it fully charges on 220v in less time than my Volt fully charges to 38 miles on the same charger.

I'd say that they'd have a serious problem advertising a price of $15,500USD...
If it were impossible to purchase a Solo in any configuration at that price.

I just can't get enough watching this "2019 Electra Meccanica" video! Compared to the early test drivable mules, this one is definitely ready to sell. From the steering wheel to the dash and the overall layout is refined. The front grill now have air intake to bring in cool air and the "3rd eye" well, I can get used to it, not a deal breaker for me and if anything, it's an added safety feature.

Amazing refinements since the earlier test SOLOs and well worth the longer wait by reservationists. I like the final hood scoop styled center light..........didn’t care for the initial cyclops version.
I’m eager to hear your review after a test drive experience. I was blown away by the Arcimoto’s performance, handling, ride, and driver comfort. I hope the SOLO meets or exceeds your expectations as well! The Arcimoto is more cycle than auto and the SOLO is more auto than cycle.

You've chosen the perfect FUV because it's a two seater and from what you mentioned, it was an easy sell for your wife after the test drive! I'm still working on my wife to come on board with my future SOLO investment because she didn't like that it only seats one! :(

Much better look for the dash. Doesn't look like a a home made car.

There was initially the SOLO and the SOLO Twinn concept renders. The SOLO Twinn may have broadened EMV’s market demographic dramatically. With that said, what if your wife loves to drive it and you find yourself home alone? Better hide the spare key! :)
