Hey I'm with you on this "no helmet" thing on any enclosed vehicles but having said that, I won't go as far as saying as you eloquently put " not safe"!And ultimately, why aren't we all wearing helmets in our cars all 49 or 50 states

Agreed...but still a legislative win and advantage for Elio.Hey I'm with you on this "no helmet" thing on any enclosed vehicles but having said that, I won't go as far as saying as you eloquently put " not safe"!
All I'm saying is that I don't have the Arcimoto, Sondors, SAM, or Electra Meccanica option currently if I'm in California or 18 other states, unless I'm willing to wear a helmet & get a motorcycle endorsement. The helmet would be dangerous and the motorcycle endorsement a pain in the butt. Eliminate the helmet, motorcycle endorsement and long road trips and I want the Arcimoto as well...to tell the truth!I give credit and a hats off to any new startup vehicle company that takes 'their' visionary concept vehicle to production status, with a small in-house team of designers, engineers, technicians, fabricators, prototype builders, marketing specialist, a couple of angel investors, and office personnel. Arcimoto accomplished their mission with the simple "No Risk" refundable reservation support of reservationists, limited R&D budget, and reaching production model status with no debt. Kudos to the A Team on their production start celebration in Eugene on November 11th. I plan on attending. I hope we can celebrate EM's anticipated production start in 2019.
There is no logical reason to be critical of the SRK, the Arcimoto business model, or downplay their potential success. Market acceptance and Arcimoto's long term success will be determined after the SRK production start. Market acceptance of the first three wheeler to production will be a major advantage to those that follow. "Go three wheels!" Paul Elio quote while chatting with Team Arcimoto.
I understand the SRK or the Elio not meeting an individuals wants/needs, but I don't understand slamming or trolling Arcimoto, Elio Motors or any other new startup company. If your interest is in only one vehicle concentrate your positive efforts and support in getting that vehicle to production. Drive what YOU like, Like what YOU drive.
Just in case this is an honest question: Helmet use when strapped into a harness/seat belt requires additional safety restraints that anchor the helmet to prevent placing additional strain on the neck due to the weight of the helmet. These safety devices are required by the various racing associations. I forget the names of these, but they should be easy to google.Hhmmm, I wonder why test drivers still wearing helmets???
Personally, I agree with you, to an extent. My post was only refuting KenK's assertion that EM somehow screwed over Arcimoto, which is total BS. Arcimoto made some design decisions to trade easy of manufacture/cost for a more limited owner reach. Time will tell as to whether or not this trade off works out for them. Whether or not it does, has nothing at all to do with EM, or their legislative efforts.Arcimoto's plan is on schedule.........no screw ups on their part whatsoever. The 1700+ SRK reservationists are happy with the SRKs Motorcycle classification, licensing requirements, and helmet laws. Nothing to do with Elio. Two different 3 wheelers for 2 different market demographics. Thanks KenK for poking the Elio Bear on the Arcimoto thread.
definitely agreed with you on that!Agreed...but still a legislative win and advantage for Elio.
On a side joke...I don't see the point in wearing a helmet while doing parachute or tandem jumps...if the chute fails and you're falling to earth at 100+ miles per hour, it's the HELMET wearing you for protection! "Will likely be resolved"... I want that to happen... it's quite the process it seems.I liked the truth. I hope you take delivery of your Elio in 2019. The SRK's helmet and/or MC licensing endorsement concerns will likely be resolved prior to deliveries. I'm getting the MC endorsement required in Idaho, only a slight inconvenience with minimal cost. It may be a positive to take a MC defensive riding class to sharpen my driver awareness skills in general.
