Since I have no real issue with it, I don’t have to get used to it. :) Wait a minute...didn’t they ‘fabricate’ the dental implants and custom fit shoe using 3D printing technology?

I admire Arcimoto for continually looking to the future that includes additive manufacturing, all while delivering a retail product today that incorporates the use of milling components with their BFL from a solid block of metal.

I gave you links on that. It's an impressive industry that is growing quite well. It's the volume which becomes a problem and thus, why the FUV is a perfect candidate. If they made 100K FUV's/year, then it would not.

Can you show me a pic of a part that FUV machines out of a solid block of metal? I'd like to see it as it must be something super simple.

Yes, Super Simple with the AMP’s factory equipped BFL:

I really don’t care how the FUV’s parts are made, only that parts are being made and assembled into retail production vehicles being delivered to Arcimoto early adopter reservationists and that Arcimoto is in the process of ramping production numbers of parts and fully assembled FUVs. No FUV debate needed. The only real question is simple and personal........does it meet your needs......yes or no.

I’d like to be driving both the Elio & FUV retail production three wheelers until my preferred narrow, fully enclosed, climate controlled, high performance, long range, tilting three wheeler EV hits the market. MSRP is no object. Enjoy your rides. :)

I hope the i-road increases speed and range. No new news, hope they did not shelve it.

You do realize those are not sold blocks of metal but cast pieces that are machined. No different than than things like a Briggs lawn mower engine or a transmission on a golf cart. Even in the SEC filings they say they are sand cast parts.

No different than other manufacturer’s fabricated metal parts. Frankly, I don’t care if they laser cut metal fabricated parts in house or purchase parts from suppliers, but for me it’s impressive to see Arcimoto’s up and running fully equipped AMP in action with trained employees, fabricating parts (gear box casings and FUV Frames, etc.), assembling and delivering vehicles rather than an old dusty, idle plant.

I simply want to drive the FUV, not engineer or build it. No reason for me to be critical of progress, so I’ll leave the critical comments regarding Arcimoto’s business model, products, manufacturing process, sales, delivery, and servicing plans to you. I appreciate your apparent engineering background, interest in and knowledge of the FUV and the Company.

Me too! One of my favorite urban commuter concepts. After the results and feedback from the year long Beta Fleet testing, I thought they would have moved it into the production cycle. How perfect to own the i-Road with sales and servicing available at our local Toyota Dealerships!
